Mainland China-born actor and wushu champion Zhao Wen-Zhuo (ONE UPON A TIME IN CHINA IV, ANOTHER MELTDOWN) may be finally heading to Hollywood screens in 2009. According to sources, he will be playing the lead role in a martial arts film
While working on the television series TAI CHI, Zhao was given a script for a new martial arts film and has accepted the lead role. Zhao signed with a Hollywood agency in late 2006 with help from Jackie Chan. He was originally slated to play the lead villain in RUSH HOUR 3, but the role would end up to Hiroyuki Sanada. Meanwhile, Zhao has been learning English for over a year and last year, he married actress and Peking Opera performer Zhang Dan Lu. Zhao has two kids, a son and a daughter.
The untitled Zhao Wen-Zhuo project is scheduled to begin shooting in September for a 2009 release date.
