‘Babylon A.D.’ teaser trailers

The first video footage of Vin Diesel’s new sci-fi actioner, co-starring Michelle Yeoh has surfaced online in two French teaser trailers. They display heavy CG effects mixed with some fighting and a lot of slick visuals.

Why should we care beyond Yeoh’s presence? In addition to what appears to be stylized and very capable action direction from French helmer Mathiew Kassovitz, the film features fight choreography from Alain Figlarz whose past stunt credits include THE BOURNE IDENTITY and UNLEASHED.

On top of that, Figlarz is backed up by other top screen-fighting talent from France including Sebastien Peres (DISTRICT B13), Stephane Orsolanio (BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF) and Laurent Demianoff who was featured in 4-16 Prod’s short film HK and also performed stunt work for RUSH HOUR 3, as well as the upcoming TRANSPORTER 3.

France is the other Hong Kong right now when it comes to cutting-edge screen fighting. It would be nice to see if BABYLON AD will feature more than a token amount, as seen in these teasers. For now, it looks promising.
