Doubtful; you don't have to be able to act or fight so not being able to speak Cantonese is probably a non-issue.

Actually I agree with Wilson Yip, the hook here is to have someone look like Bruce Lee, that is the catch. Remember, this movie is about Ip, not about Bruce. So if the actor playing Bruce is not that skilled, is cool, I bet most of the action / fight scenes will be scripted and done for Donnie.
