A long while ago I watched the beginning of this movie on TV in a bad English dub and put me off finishing the movie. What a mistake that was! Not too long ago I was given the opportunity to watch the film in the original language with English subtitles and what a difference it made. While it wasn’t the best beginning anyway, without the shocking English dub it was a much better movie and loads of terrific kung fu action. I would definitely rate it higher than Mark pollard’s review (a reviewer that I rate highly). I would probably give it a 4/5 stars. Not my favourite venoms movie but still very good.

The Filipino boxing called panuntukan or pangamut are also present in the movie. the hand strike is from SINAWALI techniques. clearly the martial art used are not baritsu, it is ARNIS..

Keep up the nice work Albert. I really enjoyed these films (and every other Kurosawa film as well) and reading this brought back fond memories. Some day you should check out HIGH AND LOW starring a youthful Mifune Toshiro. You will also recognize other Kurosawa “stock” actors from his Samurai films but they are playing civilian roles.

Zhao was great in TRUE LEGEND and the penultimate tournament was awesome. IMO, except for a few films like WING CHUNG, Yen is better suited for “modern day actioners.” In fact, I watched TIGER CAGE yet again just the other night. I can't wait for this one.
