Lots of new material has surfaced to tease us with Sylvester Stallone’s all-star action epic THE EXPENDABLES. Set pics, videos and Cannes promo art. Much of it is coming from an active production blog while the Cannes material, which mostly features teaser art, is popping up all over.

Before I step aside to let the goodies speak for themselves it’s worth noting that there is currently a solid, yet unconfirmed rumor floating around that Bruce Willis is signing on to play “Church,” the man who hires the merc team. This is turning out to be a killer action movie folks with Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny Trejo, Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Terry Crews, Gary Daniels, Steve Austin, Randy Couture, and Sly himself all in this picture. Sly gets my eternal gratitude just for attempting to make this film.

The likely reason that we have yet to see Li in anything but the accompanying promo art is that he has been in China with his One Foundation to observe the terrible earthquake that took place there this time last year and rally additional support for the survivors. Good for Li. I’m sure we’ll see him in action again soon enough.

    Gary Daniels will be fighting with Jet Li and Jason Statham. Now he is in New Orleans on the sets.

    I wonder how much steroids Stallone took for this film I mean come on Rocky,Terminator, UFC fighter,WWE wrestler,Kung Fu master,and a guy that only uses guns(Statham) I mean it looks good but I think they bit off more then they can chew but I hop they prove me wrong and it comes out to be a great film.P.S. what the hell through in Seagal(the guy that doesnt touch any one) and JCVD(AKA splits) no disrespect they all got mad "skills".

    jet really did create this One Foundation, not just for the earthquake survivors, but for the poor too. i saw him come on a talkshow and he was going on about his foundation. so its really neat, that he's trying to do something to help people from all over the world. he has become like a real life wong fei hung i would say.

    jackie chan has his own foundation, and jet could of just contributed to that, but rather he created his own, which says he's really trying to make a difference.

    I didn't know that Gary Daniels is in this movie, aside from Scott Adkins and Michael J. White, he is my third non asian favorite MA actor, hope he gets to fight Jet Le, that would be awsome, I'm really looking forward to this movie. Great pics too.
  • At first I was thinking that maybe this movie is stretching the definition of "Kung-Fu" and "Martial Arts" a bit to far. I was thinking that this movie sounds more like "Kung-Foolishness." However, my fellow posters have convinced me otherwise and I will rent this movie once it becomes available on Netflix or Blockbuster. Thanks for the perspective guys!
  • Had my doubts originally...shame on me. Who am I to think this film is going to be anything short of fracken spectacular! Dolph Lundgren? Shoot...when was the last time we saw him in a major Hollywood film? I thought he was living on an Island somewhere in the Majorca's with Seka....

    Im almost sure its going to be Bruce Willis to play "Church". I can smell pure awesomeness coming from this film. Sly looks nowhere near the age of 62, this movie will be something to look forward too with much anticipation.

    This film is a dream come true. I remember as a kid always fantasizing about having all the big action stars in one film, this seems to be the closest thing I'll ever see of that dream.

    Steve Austin??? you mean Stone Cold Steve Austin is gonna be in this film?! ah it doesn't get any better than this! screw van damme, they got austin. give me a hell yeah! lol. stone cold needs to give van damme a stone cold stunner for not wanting to be in this movie haha.

    they got a lot of star power in this... it took them long enough to join forces.

    seeing arnold again is definitely a plus, and with jet li also....
