Couldn't find anything on this in this thread. I have made a lot of shorts and do some FX work, and I figure a thread on this is needed.
I take a garden sprayer/hudson sprayer, and fill it with watery blood(Ill post this too, but for smaurai style blood I dissolve a cup of flour in 3or four cups of water, add some liquid soap(helps it stick to the skin and soak clothes good) and about 4 oz red food color. It makes it a redish orange so it looks similar to what was used). Then I pump it up till it wont pump any more.
Then i attach a clear plastic hose to the end of the actually sprayer hose (might have to find a bigger hose to fit the end, then put you r hose into that one) and duct tape it. I use a fairly thick hose anyways. Then toward the end of the hose cut a diamond shaped (about 1 in to1 1/2 in) hole about 4 - 6 in from the end. Take alot of wet paper towel and jam the end of the tube as tight as you can, then tape it as well. THen pump away!
I will note though. I have had quite a few kill Bill sprays by cutting that diamond hole, and then putting a very small pice of tape through the middle, ot almost taping it completly shut, ust leaving a small hole. I have shot blood over my house literally, about 20 feet high, so practice with it, if you try it.
