I'm new to the forum

Shaw Brothers movies and Classics are the way I row.Some of the newer style Kung Fu movies are getting better but still have not seen anything that blows me away.

Has anyone seen (Dragon Tiger Gate) what are your thoughts of this movie??

Welcome to the forum, mate. I did see that movie a few years back, and my memories of it are not entirely positive. I think it was an adaptation of a long running Hong Kong comic book, and as with anything of that type, some prior knowledge of the source material is always an help. I didn't think it was terrible, just not quite the best work of all involved.

DRAGON TIGER GATE is well worth seeing, but seriously flawed. Donnie Yen has a great fight in a field against multiple opponents, and there a cool superhero-type fight at the climax. But as Kaleyboy mentioned, the film is very uneven in most regards.

Back in the '70s, I think seeing "Iron Fist" comics is what caught me to martial arts stuff in the first place! Of course, I had to wait for the ultra-accessability of DVDs in order to really enjoy "Kung Fu" flicks, old and new, and BOY, HOW DID I CATCH UP! :tongue: A great Screen Name, indeed! Dragon Tiger Gate is entertaining. Not as much as the original Storm Riders. I can't place my finger on where exactly they went wrong, however, it does not grasp you like a live-action Anime' should.
