If you were ever thinking of ordering from Buyoyo.com, dont. I firmly suggest buying the DVD'S needed somewhere else and
if you cannot find it someplace else and Buyoyo.com has it, do not purchase from them. If it were just one thing i would let
it go but my experience with Buyoyo.com was so awful i feel obligated to warn someone. (1) Slow service: Took over 30 days
to recieve my order. (2) Additional delays: Item(s) out of stock. I was never even told the item was out of stock, i found out
by chance when i was checking my order. Mistake (3) Customer service: They gave me excuses, and different ship dates.
cathy@itok.com told me there was a delay because customs had checked the papers. I was like delay? What? already been
20 days etc. I pointed out that her e-mail was cathy@itok.com and told her it... not... ok... 10 days later i received the Dvds.

Mistake (4) Items damaged, & Wrong Items sent. Of course you might guess what they told me when i wrote. 'Send it back'.
Im not even going to send the items back. At this point, im am through with dealing with them. Worst online purchase ever.

If you paid with creditcard you should get your bank to retract your money from them.

Thank you for the info, Daigoro. I had a qualm or two about Buyoyo.com, and you've confirmed it! No need to get anything from THEM! Sorry about your transaction gone bad....

Man, that DVD is scratched up pretty bad. It looks like it was floating around in the case for the whole 30 day shipping odyssey. I'd send them that photo and demand a replacement disc. After such a lousy buying experience, you shouldn't have to go througfh the hassle of sending it back etc.

Personally, after being treated so badly, I'd make a back-up copy first, then send it back. That way, even if they don't send a new one, you still have the movie.

DVD packaging/cases suck, because they do not protect the disc. Whoever invented the modern DVD case should be shot. I've had too many badly scuffed and sometime broken discs. It's just dumb to devise a mass market case that does not securely protect the disc in transit.

I bought one from them a long time ago. I remember I had to call them in HK to demand they ship out my DVD. It arrived scratched as a floater. Reason : They simply wrapped it in brown paper and sent......no bubbled packaging at all. Luckily it played without any defects but I vowed......never again.

I've used Buyoyo for years and thankfully have never had any problems. I did get a scratched disc once, but they exchanged it and credited me the shipping cost.

I've used them for years, and I haven't had any issues that were any worse than other retailers. I don't know if they'll open up a DVD for you and stick tissue paper inside to prevent the disc from getting scratched if it gets loose from the spindle.

It was probably done on purpose. In the beginning, some companies were dabbling with jewel cases. But they wanted to be a pain in the butt and create a new larger sized package that could damage the disc inside.

There were a few times when I had to exchange a disc or part of a set, and they were accommodating. I don't remember if they credited me for shipping. One case, the movie inside was different from what was on the cover or printed on the DVD. The other was one disc out of a whole set was bad, and they let me just send that one disc for an exchange, instead of the whole set.

That's why they're called Buy, Yo-Yo.

That's the only online retailer I use for HK films. I've been using it for at least 6-7 years. Never had any problems whatsoever. Shipping to US takes 10-14 days
I remember one time I had to wait an extra week because they were looking for a VCD, finally told me it's out of stock and shipped the rest of my order promptly

Just as a counter-point I'd like to say I've been ordering from them for years (back when they were dvdshelf/layoyo, even) and don't recall any major problems.

As for shipping time, depending on what you choose, I suspect the dvds really are on a slow boat from China.

I usually never order fewer than 10 dvds/10 units, which probably doesn't hurt.

Fortunately, there's plenty of other places to shop (more or less).

Why such unpredictabilty with Buyoyo, as well as some other non-U.S. sites that offer the movies we want?:ooh: Gotta take an aspirin....

I've also been using them since the days when they were called DVDShelf and experienced nothing but good service. I used to order from DDDHouse all the time, but their prices are slightly higher for the same item. And Buyoyo had a lot of hard to find VCDs like the Ocean Shores stuff, which DDDHouse never carried.
