I'm looking for swords which are made of either hard plastic or some other material which can be painted to give it a metal look. They must be functional in that they would have to be able to withstand repeated blows with each other. I'm choreographing a fight scene with 2 tai chi swords and I don't want to use my metal practice swords.

If anyone has a website or company name which specializes in these items, I'd appreciate it.

I would like to have a couple of realistic looking rubber/plastic swords myself, but I don't believe there are any companies on the internet that sells them:(

You could try making your own, either from scratch or paint wooden swords so that they look metalic. The only problems with wooden Tai Chi- practise swords are that they are very delicate, and will brake easily. Though, it might be possible to put ducktape around them and then paint them. That would make them a little stronger, but you still wouldn't be able to hit very hard with them.

I hope this helps!
if you try making your own, good luck (you're gonna need it)!

Gung Hei Faht choy, everyone!

If you make your own sword in a similar way of that I described in my earlier post, I would recomend you to use your metal training swords for close-ups!
