Does anything know what legit U.S. companies released Shaw Brothers movies in the 80's/early 90's on VHS?
I know one company was VISTA. And I think EMBASSY released stuff like MASTER KILLER, I could be wrong. There was another company that released Chinatown Kid and Two Champions of Shaolin - - I forget the label that put those out.
Also, does anyone have any scans of VHS boxes or more information regarding legitimate VHS Shaw Brothers titles?
I'm working on an in-depth article about collecting VHS films, and just need a bit of info before I wrap it up. It's almost done, I think you guys will get a kick out of it. =)

South Gate Entertainment released TWO CHAMPIONS OF SHAOLIN in 1989 and CHINATOWN KID in 1990.

I have the Southgate KING BOXER tape - which is fully letterboxed and very nice looking and sounding all things considered. It was English dubbed, but at the time what else could one expect? It's in storage so I can't check the release date on it.
This page (http://www.critcononline.com/southgate_entertainment_vhs_covers.htm) has the covers for Southgate's KING BOXER, BELLS OF DEATH and DUEL OF FISTS tapes.
Prism released (THE SUPER) INFRAMAN on legitimate VHS.

It looks like Forum Home Video and not Embassy were behind the legit release of MASTER KILLER:

For the sake of completeness, it ought to be noted that MIGHTY PEKING MAN and KING OF MASKS got late-era VHS releases, from Miramax/Rolling Thunder and Sony respectively. Anchor Bay put out the Shaw/Hammer LEGEND OF THE SEVEN GOLDEN VAMPIRES and Warner Bros released the Shaw/Warner CLEOPATRA JONES AND THE CASINO OF GOLD, which might or might not count depending on one's position on international co-productions.

You guys are awesome. Thanks for the images.
You guys mind if I use them for the feature? I'll credit.
Also, if anybody has a image of the VISTA "super ninjas", that's would be great! (not to be confused with the Alexander Lou film "Super Ninja"

Embassy was the first to release MASTER KILLER. I rented several copies many times in the 80s when I was a lad. Fox Lorber (later Forum), picked up the rights to the Embassy World Northal catalog, giving us the endorsements of the mysterious Phillip Darrett.

I had no idea - I couldn't find a picture of the Embassy tape. Interesting to know.

The Embassy tape for MASTER KILLER was also cut for violence in three or four places.
The Vista tapes often had their credits omitted. SHAOLIN EXECUTIONER eliminates the entire opening credits and fight scene and starts with CKT coming over the hill followed by a computer generated title card. There's also a brief credit crawl added at the end listing the main cast and director.
SHAOLIN CHALLENGES NINJA also eliminates the opening credits and begins with a close up of Gordon Liu furious over marrying "an ugly kid",
The SUPER NINJAS tape is the only one that I had that retained its original credits. There was a minor "cut", though, a dissolve of Ricky Cheng running through the bushes. Not really a cut, but probably not used in that particular print.
There was also FIST OF THE WHITE LOTUS and 10 TIGERS FROM KWANG TUNG from Vista, but I never saw them.

SUPER NINJAS was also time-compressed. Very true about MASTER KILLER being cut. I remember a late night broadcast on WGN was more complete.
