Shaolin vs. Tai Chi

I picked this up for $5.99 at a Video store/ Bus station in Philadelphia's Chinatown. Every Video shop in my town that sells Martial Arts films invariably sells porn as well (I don't know what that's about.) Although the film stars almost no one that i am familiar with except Mantis expert Han Ying and a limited role by Jacky Lee as a drunken Monk and master of Intoxicated Pole style, I loved it. My only complaint was that the subtitles were at some points too wide for the screen which caused them to be cut off. I really enjoyed this film the choreography was superb, the Taoist vs Shaolin fights were spectacular. The two schools team up in an amazing finale against Han Ying, just great action from beginning to end. I wondered if anyone was aware if a better version was available.

Also does anyone know if the subtitles in the Vengeance Video version are the same way in that they get cut off?

I really like Rarescope version which has both that and Shaolin vs. Ninja. The subtitles are burnt in, but it is widescreen. Some of the undercranking annoyed me in that film, but it was fun and I do like Eagle Han Ying.

My version says it's from vengeance video but the cover looks like it was made on a home printer plus the source was dodgy. I thought maybe it was burned from a VHS copy or something. But for $6 i'm not really complaining. I think Video Asia also released it as part of a 4 pack of Shaolin Vs. Ninja, Lama, Tai Chi, and Wu Tang.

I double checked both DVDs this weekend. They are the same except that the Video Asia has six chapter stops versus the 10 in the Rarescope version.

You can also get this via the Flicks with Kicks set which is probably the best way to go (even if you have to get Duel of Karate :)).
