It might better than MK2 but... is it MK? O_O
MK1 was more related than this video...

Looks pretty good. I'd even say the acting is better than Mortal Kombat and Annihilation. M.J White is getting better and better in with each film.
So will this be only a short film or a standard full length piece?

They have to make this.....so they obviously won't.
Why have an original thought when it's just easier to murder an old film.

Seems like the story is pretty original. Just one example is Reptile's disease. A real disease they use to explain his accomplishments as a fighter/killer. That's pretty original, gritty and real. Real more than someone just "having" these magical skills and going the fantasy route.

Yeah,I agree and there-in lay's the problem.
It's seems to me that it's financially safer for Movie Companies to remake films than it would be to take a gamble on this new imagining of MK which leads me to believe that, unfortunately, this idea will never see the light of day.
But you never know, someone out there may just have the hutspah(?) to take a gamble on what is a hell of an idea,we can but hope

Isn't it pretty obvious this is a teaser for the actual film? Maybe I missed some other news but I didn't get the impression this was a short film by any stretch of the imagination.

this was made as a short film to pitch the movie and get funded by a movie company...the actress (7of 9) husband i think made it

Can't wait to see the webisodes and the feature :) Hope Larnell Stovall continues on as fight choreographer.

I'm glad they're taking this approach with the "Rebirth" canon of MK. While it's an interesting concept and departure from the typical storyline, I'd like to see Warner Bros' attempt at a film reboot to be closer to the source material.

And I still say Zack Snyder should direct it

Apparently they're putting out some 10 webisodes first in April. If they're anything like the first one.......SWEET!

The good news? These are intended to lay the groundwork for a reboot with a feature to come out next year.

It really is jut a shame that they cannot get a good storyline for this movie. But I'm not gonna to get all worked up for this movie just yet.

Jeri Ryan tweeted that she is returning as Sonya Blade in the new webisodes that is currently in production. Michael Jai White is returning as Jax and it was also announced that Darren Shahlavi has joined the cast as Kano. The webisodes will feature insights on the characters who will be featured into the new MK video game, due for release April 19.

Matt Mullins tweeted (http://twitter.com/Sideswipematt) that he is returning as Johnny Cage in the MORTAL KOMBAT webisodes.

So Jeri Ryan, Michael Jai White, and Matt Mullins are back with Darren Shahlavi playing Kano in the webisodes.

So this is going to be an online series? Not on DVD? It looked really good just from that clip!
