While there has been a video game and a few movies under the title and similar ones I am talking about a 1990 Stephen Chow film that was directed by Danny Lee. I recently went on a trip to visit family in Canada and picked up some dvds this being one of them.
The story involves Chow's character leaving his residence with his father to seek popularity in Hong Kong. His father Master Chow played by (Yuen Wah) better known as the Landlord from Kung Fu Hustle tells Chow that he must go to Hong Kong with his Uncle played by (Bryan Leung) to seek popularity after he embarrasses him in front of a film crew. Teresa Mo also has a role as a student of the Master who secretly has a crush on Chow's character.
The main focus of this film is pool or snooker to be more specific. When Chow's Uncle finds out that Chow is an expert at the game he uses him to bet money against others and hustle people to get cash. It's an interesting film that has its share of action and typical Chow humor and has a special appearance by english professional snooker player Jimmy White.
Overall I'd rate it 7.0/10.
