Another Poll. Best HK actor of current era

My choice is Louis Koo. The reason i am making this, i want to know whom our members prefer.

I'd say Lau Ching-Wan. He's been impressive in his films with Johnnie To, notably Mad Detective and the Running Out of Time films. He also has a knack for comedy. Loved La Brassiere and Mighty Baby (yep, with Louis Koo) and Itchy Heart as well.

Since the poll is broken, I have to go with Lau Ching Wan. You miss 3 big ones

Leung Chiu-Wai: In The mood for love, Infernal Affair, Hero, Confession of Pain, Red Cliff 1+2, Lust, Caution

Lau Tak-Wah: Love on a diet, needing you, running on karma, fulltime killer, fighter's blue, battle of wits, protege

Chow Sing-chi: he wrote, produced, starred Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer

There is a reason why i didn't post Andy Lau, Chiu Wai and Ah Sing. Their movies were already big hits in the first half of 90's. But these guys, except Leung Ka Fai didn't make that big until the second half 90's and 2000's. When i created this poll it was too late, and i haven't slept for 30 hours so i screwed everything up.

A tie between Simon Yam and Anthony Wong. They are in almost everything now, and many of these movies are good to watch. I'd still choose Sean Lau out of them all since he's a long-time favorite but I feel he did so few great movies between 2001 and now.

Went with Francis Ng, who I not only think is one of the best HK actors of recent times, But one of the best actors period!

If i say the best actor I have in mind 3 things:

1. how he handles dramatic roles
2. whether he can play other stuff like comedy and etc
3. charisma


For me the best 2 actors are Francis Ng and Antony Wong, because they can handle everything: (scums, righteous, cops, maniacs, poor guys, fools, and anything you name including priests!). Ugly Kwan and Tai Fei rule!
Lau Ching Wan is skilled in serious roles and he's charismatic. However he's not multifaced, his facial expressions are always the same.

Francis Ng for me. He's always watchable and believable in whatever movie he acts in. But overall, I think the current crop of HK talent are a pretty poor lot compared to the talent of the 70's & 80's.
