...love when a fighter announces the techniques he's going to use on his opponent before the fight begins or during the fight when he/she is transitioning from technique to technique.
What's kinda tight is when one dude is bustin the other dudes ass and he starts calling out technique after technique just to let the dude know what he's bustin his ass with. He's really letting the other dude know, "this is my style, this is how i rep it, as a matter of fact Hold This Bitch!!!"
Or maybe even training scenes where the style is being broken down by technique.
For example a nice flick where the master is really breaking down the style for the student is in Super Power. Remember when the teacher is showing Billy Chong Northern and Southern Eagle Claw? Northern Eagle Claw he demonstrates the joint locks and names them; Southern Eagle Claw showcases the locks and pressure points and names them. That was ill.
Now it would be nice if I could give the names of the techniques he was breaking down like a shotgun. I just remember it was hot as hell. There's a guy that knows some type of internal style (can't remember what it's called), but he has a son that used A Thousand Hands against the Southern Eagle. I was like, Damn!!! it's on now!!!
Can you guys set up the scenes and give me the techniques.

Mr. Yuen (Lu feng) vs. the 5 mong brothers in the opening for Magnificent Ruffians
"I'll use Support the Sun in 7 moves... My favorite - the cloud comes down."
(he proceeds to murder them with once move as promised)
"Clouds from under feet!"
"Close rise up!"
"Clouds go round!"
"Cloud meets the sun!"
The thing about Magnificent Ruffians, is Lu Feng is like this the entire movie. Don't get me started on the finale. The man derived 49 + moves for this film alone.

the Mystery of Chessboxing finale comes to mind, 7 Grandmasters end fight too.
Anyone know where the sample from the intro to ODB's "Rawhide" came from?

I think that is what I liked so much about Drunken Master when I was a child. When he goes through the eight drunken gods. Timeless cinema.

Magnificent Ruffians...I have this movie and can't find it (I have a ton of flicks). What you described is definitely familiar. And this flick comes up a lot in many different discussions. I'm gonna have to find it and watch it again.

For Drunken Style check out "Kung Fu of The 8 Drunkards". It's old, and for an old film the way the broke down drunken style, for me at least, is classic.
And the scene in Dance of the Drunk Mantis (which is an all time great) where Sam Seed and Rubber Legs exchange skills at a table in a restaurant was ill.
When Sam Seed told Rubber Legs "Eat alone and starve. Drink alone and Die", then he went on the attack was crazy.
Also the scene where the doctor was breaking down the four (or five) levels of kung fu for the kid when they were in the hut was nice too. I'm missing some here. Trying to do this from memory. Somebody help a fella out.
"First comes the Scholar.
Then comes ....
Then comes The Sick
And lastly is The Wine".

Nice. What would this thread be without a quote from Bruce?

Oh boy... when you said "where the hell do they find this music?" in the video clip, not sure if it was rhetorical, but that music cue was actually taken from the Argento cut of George Romero's Dawn of the Dead... I kid you not :-p
EDIT: It's even on iTunes! The track title is "Torte in Faccia" ("Pie in Face")

Donnie Yen, Nicholas Tse and some other dude whose name I don't know star in this flick.
There's a scene towards the end of the flick where Donnie Yen fights a bad guy with extremely good kung fu. Donnie puts the moves on this dude something crazy. It got so hectic for the bad guy that after he got punched dead in his face, he stumbled back and shouts the move Yen just put on him...."18 Dragon Slaying Palms!" Surrounding Yen's scenes at the end, it was simply bananas. He really did his thing.
Can't give the name of this movie. It's part of another thread (trivia).

That's funny cause I always thought he was saying, "the sky picture point"!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
what about the scene when Billy Chong was training in the circle of bricks and the old master dipped his fists in powder as Billy went on the attack. When Billy finally hit the teacher he was mad happy, but the teacher shuts him with this line...(as he points at Billy) "Just think of your body then". Billy's covered with 100 fists prints. That was ill.
