Scott Pilgrim vs. the World:

OK I went to see this movie yesterday with my Son who is 7yrs old. Granted it did have some scenes that were hard to explain to a little Kid. Such as Scott Pilgrim's roommate who is Gay, making out with another boy. Listen I don't have a problem with anybody being Gay but when you put in on screen showing it to Kids I think its not appropriate. OK with that being said, the movie was OK some of the action scenes were good, it was like watching a video game and I think that is what the director wanted to succeed in doing, and he did. The storyline was funny nerdy Guy wants to get the Girl of his dreams only to battle 7-Evil Ex. BF's. Overall I think this movie will do a lot better when it goes on DVD but the Teenage audience will love this movie.

synopsis:
As the bass guitarist for a garage-rock band, Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) has never had trouble getting a girlfriend; usually, the problem is getting rid of them. But when Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) skates into his heart, he finds she has the most troublesome baggage of all: an evil army of ex-boyfriends who will stop at nothing to eliminate him as Ramona's suitor.

I saw it this weekend as well. Great little film...very funny and probably even funnier if you get all the inside gamer jokes. Unfortunately it only made $10M in the U.S. over the weekend with a total budget of $60M. That should be low enough to deem it a flop, which is a shame as the reviews are good across the board and I like Edgar Wright's stuff as a director, so I want him to succeed. I agree that this could be big/gain cult status on home video release but it doesn't look like the theatrical run will amount to much.

I think this is much better than The Expendables, which I saw on the same day.

It is shame it didn't do too well on its opening weekend. I think its comic book and odd visual tones turned the mainstream audiences off. Which is too bad because this is a great gem of a movie that needs to be seen.

Funny, great characters, awesome visuals, and snappy/intelligent dialogue, this really is the epitome of a great filmmaker in Edgar Wright, who I think belongs on the same list as Nolan, del Toro, and Peter Jackson. All, who are making great films today.

Me also agree, Wright put his heart and soul into this one with every single little detail and work put into it!!! This was one of the best film's of the year for me, I'd say that I enjoy it more than Inception... We got some badss filmmakers from the UK putting a stamp in the movie industry!!!

Great flick, especially if you grew up playing Super Nintendo. Biggest down side was looking at Michael Cera's mug for 2 hours.
