Okay, first of all, the three posters above- friends who's opinions I value- have all recommended this comic series to me.
Second, if that was a trailer for just one movie I would be besides myself with excitement. But an entire series?! That looks fantastic!!!! I will be checking this out- comic and series.:nerd: Thanks for posting that Karlos.
i too have the comic series but i picked it up in hardcover ,i came late into getting walking dead, and the first few issues are a fortune to get a hold of

This is really a great series, and the first episode is gory and well paced I thought. The premiere episode was leaked online on October 20, I got it immediately, and I have already seen it twice, as I couldn't wait. I love EVERYTHING zombies. The quality was not the best, so I will be watching it again when it premieres. It's about time zombies were represented, as oppose to all the vampire TV shows that have been out there.
Which reminds me, for those of you that have the game Red Dead Redemption, the new downloadable game pack (available today) brings ZOMBIES!!! New single player as well as multiplayer gameplay for only $10.

I wasn't expecting much, to be honest, since AMC edits movies and all. They seem to have predicted that as a general response and answered pre-credits with a zombie stopping headshot. I was pleasantly surprised and moved my DVR timer from ONCE to NEW EPISODES.
Given the weak ending of Dead Set, which I had pinned my zombie hopes on for the season, I'm now really excited about The Walking Dead.

I thought it was fantastic! Every aspect of the show was top notch. My wife and I loved every minute of it, and it was a great topper to our Halloween night. We're already counting the minutes for the next episode. After former zombie maestro Romero's incredibly disappointing SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD, THE WALKING DEAD was the cure for tht cinematic ailment, and a well needed step back into the proper (shambling) direction for zombie fans.

Brilliant television. I think this will grow to be the best thing on our boxes right now. I loved every minute of it. The realism was a refreshing change from the redundant feeling of silliness in most recent zombie efforts. The acting was superb, the humans and the zombies were deeply humanized and it kept me wanting more.
Consider me hooked.

Me and Mrs. ShaOW!linDude watched this last night finally. (Really wanted to cap off Halloween with it but it just didn't happen.)
It's one of the few TV shows I've seen advertised over the last few years that actually lived up to its hype. It was just fantastic. I was curious about which 'zombie' would be on display here: the plodding type or the running type. I'm glad they went for the Romero version. (The title is a giveaway, I guess.) Loved the ending. We're definitely down for this next Sunday. Let the freak-out continue!

LOVED it. Though I have a few reservations about a few parts (mostly nit picking)...it def met my expectations.
Coincedentally a good friend posted this on FB (he's usually good on the facts):
"Walking Dead set an AMC record and garnered 5.3 million viewers- waaay beyond numbers ever pulled for Mad Men or Breaking Bad- even bigger than the biggest turnout for HBO's True Blood."
So hopefully a longer Season 2 is picked up in short order:xd::tongue:

I agree with everyone's post here I thought it was an excellent show, original. The only thing that got me is why they left him in the Hospital. I hope they go back and explain how the Zombies came to be was it a Man-Made Virus? And his Boy making the moves on his Wife, DAMN That's Dead Wrong! Cannot wait till this Sunday's show.

I like how there is a distinct feeling that there's a little picture within the big picture. The little picture is them being trapped within the building and needing a way out while the bigger picture if how the groups will meet and how Rick will react to his wife's "extra curricular activities."
I hope this show goes from strength to strength. So far, it's delivered for every type of zombie fan, as well as those who aren't really big followers of that specific sub-genre.

I agree. There were some other elements showing that though they're the walking dead they're not the walking stupid. They can distinguish the living and the dead by scent. There's the one zombie using the piece of cinder block to crack the glass doors. You can tell they aren't just plodding around.....well, they are but they seem to be continually searching for something/someone to eat. Just like like the one dude's wife in the first ep. She had a memory of where she had stayed before and came back to it to the freaking front door.

Wow. This show is only 2 eps in. They didn't waste any time. Guess they were afraid that if they didn't renew it they would be stuck with a lot of "dead" air next season.

I remember watching one of George Romero's Zombie flicks and he said the Zombies remember places that were part of their lives, that's why they go to them, I think it was Dawn of the Dead (The original) So that does explain certain traits they still have. And they can solve certain problems as well.
Karlos
11-10-2010, 12:37 PM
You're right, Daisho - it was Romero's original DAWN OF THE DEAD film, with the zombies all gravitating towards to mall, as it was "a big part of their lives".
BTW, Zombie fans, if you see it on eBay, grab the 4 disc DAWN DVD set - awesome stuff!
All three versions of the film, plus some really interesting extras.
There's a blu ray set, too, but never seen one for sale.

Lat night's ep was really good. Not a lot of zombie killing but next week's ep will probably hold a bit. The end of last night's ep also announced there is only 3 eps left as AMC only signed on for 6 total initially. That's a drag but at least next season will be longer. It will just be an insufferable wait for it to arrive.

Its a 3 disc set 1 x BD 2 x dvd.
Disc One (Blu Ray):
-Theatrical Cut in High Definition

-Commentary 2 with Richard P. Rubinstein

-Document of the Dead: The Lost Interview and Deleted Scenes

Disc Two (DVD):

-Argento Cut of Dawn of the Dead
-Publicity Vault containing: US and German Trailers, TV and Radio Spots, Reviews, Giallo Trailers (Macabre, Sleepless and House by the Cemetery)

I won't be double dipping on the DotD set. It was a low budget film, and I think they did a good job on the transfer for that standard def ultimate version with the various cuts. I don't think it'll get any better looking.
I just discovered Walking Dead a couple of episodes ago and I'm enjoying it! It's too bad I can't get the AMC high def here. I'm hoping they'll put out the series in blu ray, with more gore!! :)

Last night's episode was indeed quite good.
One, it finally showed some folks served up for lunch.
Prior to that, we had a horse and a deer but don't recall any people getting bite.
Second (and more important for me)
....(minor) spoiler ahead....
was the strong plot. The "gang of thugs" and what they were really doing once again shows how this series isn't just about bloodthirsty ghouls but how individuals react in the apocalyptic nightmare they find themselves in.

Absolutely right. It's the human degeneration which is the real heart of the drama, and a theme which develops even more as the show continues. At least, that is if it remains faithful to the comic.

Well I've just read issues 1-7, and I've already read past the storyline of what they have showed on the show so far. I am not worried too much about spoilers, because there's always the chance they might make some changes to the script. As I've already noticed the way some things have been shown on the show, was different than the comics.
The iPad is truly great for comics, magazines, movies etc. I use it every night while in bed. Movies I have on my computer, that I've downloaded in avi format, I use a program called Air Video, to stream them to the iPad, no need to actually load them on.
An iPad is Shaolin Chamber's #1 recommended Christmas gift this year!!! It's a very powerful device, especially when jailbroken. :)
Well, you may be better off waiting for iPad 2.
Sucks only 2 episodes of The Walking Dead this year, I will most definitely be buying the DVD of Season 1, as long as it's loaded with special features, director's cut of episodes, etc!! Looking forward to it.

Another good ep.
daisho2004's statement is spot on.
I'm impressed with the extent this series goes to in order to show the absolute grossness of what a zombie epidemic would be. The last few minutes of the ep when everyone heads back to Atlanta to the CDC is just........I'm not real sure how to describe it. The stench, the flies, the bodies every fifteen feet. It just gives me the heebie jeebies, man.

I have to say, I am definitely not one who particularly reads comic books, at least not since I was very young, or even regularly reads books, but this comic book has me HOOKED!!!!!!!!!!

Just read some news on twitch, apparently Frank Darabont has sacked the entire writing staff. He plans to write the entire next season himself, with some freelancers when needed. Not sure what to make of this news, if it's good or bad?

Who knows? But I guess with Darabont's past credits, we have to trust in his vision for the show. I think that without him onboard, the series may never have been comissioned at all. Let's keep our fingers crossed that next season is good.

Thank you much for the link, Karlos.
Well, I'm a little perturbed. And a lot worried. But.......I'll try to keep an open mind (like the cracked skull of a corpse a zombie is eating brains from).
I take it that essentially Darabont is wanting 'stand alone' eps. Like a comic book series. Okay, I'm cool with that, I guess. But there is still a thread of continuity that strings those together. And I worry that this will create contradictions in events further down the road unless he's already got an idea of what he wants to take place over the course of the 2nd season and how he wants it to end. Then he could give the free-lancers certain guides such as "you're picking the story up here (event/circumstance) and I need you to get it to here (event/circumstance) ---- have at it".
I guess we'll see what happens, kaleyboy, and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed, too. (Unless the season finale makes me gnaw them off.) I just hope this doesn't kill the show. (Sorry, bad pun.)

It's a good thing I have the comic books cause a year of waiting for this thing to hit again is gonna take awhile.. Was that a Bob Dylan track they used at the end of the episode?? It really fitted nicely and pretty much summed up the season... Come on Darabont make Season 2 awesome!!!
Noelle Shadow Kick
12-07-2010, 01:25 PM
Yep! Bob Dylan's "Tomorrow is a Long Time". Very fitting and well used.
Overall I thought the finale was a little disappointing. It started out really strong, and I liked seeing the group relax a little, but the end wasn't all that amazing. For a season finale a show should pull out all the stops, and it just felt like a regular episode. That said, I still can't wait for next season. This show had some problems trying to get the first season off the ground, so I feel like in season 2 the show will really be able to hit its stride. The news about Frank Darabont firing everyone who isn't Frank Darabont is troubling, so let's just hope it all works out.

Someone (over @ IMDb) said that's what happened in the comic. Looking forward to October.
To broaden the conversation..... do you think that the entire gov't would be wiped out within the time frame (60+ days?). I'd have to imagine that various naval ships (especially subs) would still be out to sea unaffected and would act as some type of floating gov't body. Not to mention the various bunkers around DC and other hidden installations.

*BEWARE OF SPOILERS!* IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE END YET, I DON'T WANT TO RUIN IT FOR ANYBODY.
You know, me and the Mrs. think it's strange that in just 60 days all networking can fail. Especially with satellite links nowadays. Plus, she also remembered that in the 2nd or 3rd ep they see a chopper flying overhead. So someone government-affiliated is still out there. So, teako170......I agree with you surmising.
Honestly, I haven't even thought about what the doc whispered to Rick. I've never read the books. Kind of want to and then again I kind of don't want to ruin the suspense. Pregnancy? Hmmm. Possible and probable though there was never any prior indication during the eps (morning sickness, abnormal food cravings, increase of appetite, emotional sensitivity).
After some mulling, I wonder if the doc didn't tell him of a possible place for the group to head to where there may be other survivors. Like a government fall-out shelter or safehouse. Or the possible source of origin for the cause of the zombies and areas to avoid.
daisho2004 ---- yeah, I just knew the zombies were going to get inside the CDC, too. Pretty bogus but I liked the end, too.

For fans of the comic though, I have some bad news. This is from Entertainment Weekly magazine (#1164- July 22,2011): EW asked: Does that mean we might also see popular comic characters like the ruthless Govenor and katana-wielding Michonne in season 2? To which executive producer Robert Kirkman replied "The Govenor, definitely not. Michonne? You know, we'll see."
No Govenor? :ooh: Awwwww....

At least we have season 2 on the way and they should have plenty of time to figure something out. Maybe after some time away he'll be ready to tackle it again when production for season 3 starts. We were thinking the same thing. Suddenly the previously established "they can smell us" detail goes out the window? Especially as they were all super ripe in their dirty clothes under the savage summer sun. Then when the one dude accidentally sliced open his arm, I thought "Oh shit! There's not going to be any chance for him to hide when he's covered in spurting life juice." But... no? :ooh: Surprising that no one on the production brought that up. Annoying, but still didn't ruin a great horror/drama. Loved that it was a 90 minute premiere.

She was ready to die in the CDC building implosion in the finale last season. (Couldn't go on after her younger sister had died some episodes earlier.) Old timer tried talking her out of it and when he couldn't, he decided he would die with her. She couldn't allow him to sacrifice himself, so they both escaped right before "ka-boom." Guessing she's not too happy about it and maybe he thinks she still has a death wish hence "no gun for you lil philly."

Thought it started out fine. Good tension. Hour 1/2 was too much time for the episode. Felt long and aimless.
Extra super sliced arm + black guy made me roll my eyes. You'd have thought he was ripped open by a chainsaw the way they did that. Way OTT.
Once the girl ran off, it lost its wheels(how do we stretch this premise out?). They did. It didn't work.

Hmmm, I thought about that, too. Consider this: They're stranded on a stretch of highway which 1 character equates to a graveyard. As they're surrounded with the smell of death among all the scattered wreckage, I can buy the fact they weren't initially detected. The redneck guy is smart in how he goes about hiding himself and the black dude who has injured himself by using corpses for cover. So, I see what the 2 of you are saying but I think it's buyable.
What I thought was a little goofy was that they took a break at the church building rather than continuing their search for the girl. I thought they hung out there a bit too long. As soon as they determined she wasn't around, they should've moved on.
Oh, yeah, that scene with the deer was a good twist.
The dvr is all set.:xd:

Anybody notice that there's a half hour show on afterwards titled "The Talking Dead"? It's hosted by Chris Hardwicke, the host of Web Soup on G4. Last night it had some other comedian on there and one of the show's developers as well. It was kind of cool and had some funny bits in it.

they didn't take in strangers and needed to move on once they found the lil girl.
Doesn't it bug anyone that the farm is nicely lit up at night? You think they'd have the first floor windows boarded up and keep the lights off - ya know, so not to attract attention to themselves. With walkers just five miles (or less) away, they sure do have a laid back, false sense of security going on.

Yeah, it was Rick wanting him to reconsider letting them possibly stay on. Which makes sense due to strength in #'s.
Yeah, the "comfort of home" sense did seem a bit out of place. What do they want to be? A Motel 6 for zombies? ("We'll leave the light on for you.......you bunch of flesh-eating ghouls!")
It also bothers me that the old man is dead set against packing heat on the farm. That's stupid. Why hasn't Rick or anyone mentioned the herd of zombies that passed through on the interstate to him? Just think if that wandered across the field one day. The effort to find Sofia seems kind of lax, too.

Ep 3 was pretty harrowing imo. Lots of zombie killing in that one, about 20 if I recall correctly. Be patient. You have to have eps to move the story along but there's still lots of tension and close calls. I think they've really upped the gore factor, too.

I particularly enjoyed last night's ep titled "Secrets". I was pretty surprised at some of the things which were brought into the light. Don't know what will happen as a result of it though. Either cohesion among the group or dissolution leading to a major division.
Poor Glenn. Love that kid. Maggie is sure sending him mixed signals. I liked seeing him man up. There was no hesitation. Hope to see more of him maturing as a character. (Is it just me or does anyone else think Steve Yuen kind of favors Jet Li in facial resemblance?)

I know. I find it hard to believe there isn't more of a concerted effort to locate her. They're always mapping a method of searching on the hood of the truck. "Well, we're doing this today.....unless something comes up; oh, and by the way, if anyone feels like checking out this area......"

I agree with you guys, this last episode was really a gut-churner (emotionally). I'm so thanful that the acting is of such a high calibre. It really makes a huge difference when you truly feel connected to the characters. When I was a kid, I was content to see a bunch of one dimensional characters get offed one after another because I was thrilled to see some cool makeup effects or the monster in action. But after being treated to stuff like the original ALIEN I started longing for the thrills of the genre combined with a higher lever of filmmaking/scriptwriting. I think THE WALKING DEAD- both the original comic (thanks Corey!) and the TV show are a prime example of those two virtues meeting to create something special.
As for the ending of this episode (spoiler free), as a guy that is rarely caught off guard after years of watching this kind of thing, I was completely and utterly shocked! Nice.
Also, are you brothers and sisters enjoying the follow up show THE TALKING DEAD? I really dig it. Lot's of fun as a host and guests discuss the episode which just aired.

Sunday's ep was good. Not a lot of zombie killing but things are being put into motion.
Love how Rick did a little gun-slinging like a sheriff in the Old West. That was cool. Quick on the draw.
The ep of "Talking Dead" was good, too. Dave Navarro (of the band: Jane's Addiction) was a guest. You could tell he's a true fan of the show and lamented the fact that there wasn't enough zombie killing and that the guys had been on the farm too long in his opinion. He also wants Hershel killed off. One of his daughters is bedridden with shock after Barn-a-geddon and Dave said rather sardonically, "That's great. Let's have someone stuck in bed again for a few episodes." Or something to that effect which owned me. I was crying, I was laughing so hard.

You know, on "Talking Dead", they always show the ep's kills. They did not show the zombie she creamed with the car. What do you want to bet he starts crawling towards her. (How do you say, "Geez, lady, I was walkin' here! You got a first aid kit?" in zombie?)

There was a fair amount of zombie killing and more stirring of the ethical pot.

Yeah, last night's ep was decent. The "thanks for the ride, lady" zombie was tearing off his facial skin to get a bite on ol' Lori. What a dumb zombie. Ain't no meat on that broad  The writers really need to do something with T-Dog because he hasn't had any character development at all. Again, I got sucked into watching that comic book show afterward. Again, a waste of time.

Glenn is an idiot... Why is he acting like a douche to Maggie all of a sudden, it was so out of character.... Doesn't make sense really, he said that he only thinks about himself, UUUUUMMMMM, I've been watching the show since the beginning and he has helped out more than he has at being selfish..

He's self-conscious because she told him she loved him. He's forged a greater emotional connection with her than anyone else since the zombie apocalypse. His reactions are now motivated out of the fear of what the trauma of his death would do to her. The thing is he recognizes that and is confronting it. This will make for more good tension between the characters and hopefully be resolved so that they remain a couple and she tags along when the group leaves the farm.

Wow! Another good ep last night!!! A little heart-to-heart chat and then a little one-on-one with Rick and Shane putting the beatdown on each other and essentially stirring up a zombie hornets' nest. What was interesting was the fact that the issues I thought would've led to fisticuffs weren't a contributing factor for it being set off. I know lots of folks seem to think that Shane may prove to be villainous. That may be true but I tend to believe he's a "good guy". I think the difference is this: Both he and Rick aren't afraid to go to the extreme. Rick however doesn't view that option as a 1st or preferred choice. They are both men of action. But Shane comes across more as a man of reaction while Rick wants to weigh his actions first.
The only bad thing about it was that there were no appearances by some of my fav characters: Glenn and Darryl.
Darryl especially has been acting withdrawn and I'm hoping he'll go on the zombie warpath before long.
Oh, and director Kevin Smith was a guest again on The Talking Dead. They should have him on there every week. He owns me. He's hysterical. He has some of the best comments and his perspective is hilarious.

OK from what I've been reading Shane is going to die in the last episode according to sources leaked on the internet! They said that he died sooner in the comic books and that he was Killed by Ricks Son after Shane was trying to Kill him so it should be very interesting! BTW Great show indeed!

If I remember it right (been a few years since I read them) Shane was dead by issue six of the comic, so he has lived well past his sell-by date in the TV show. Indeed, Rick's son shot him dead in the comic, but only because Shane was going to kill his dad, Rick.

This will be interesting if turns out to be true next season. Lori has been planting the seeds of doubt and Dale was certainly screaming it from the mountains that Shane was a time bomb waiting to go off....I would like to see the son shoot him as it makes sense with the way the characters have developed in the story on the TV series.....BTW, did anyone know that the lead actor playing "Rick" is actually British?

Yes, he used to be in UK shows This Life and Teachers. Also, the guy they have lined up to play the governor next season, David Morrissey, is also British. There are lots of British actors in US TV, mostly 'cos they are capable of doing very good US accents. Sadly, the reverse is not the case. Not many US actors can pull off a decent English accent. Anyone remember Keanu Reeves in Coppola's Dracula? :xd:

True. Kaleyboy and I have discussed this subject before.
IMO Keanu's performance in Coppola's DRACULA was the worst element in a very uneven film. It had some fantastic elements- Gary Oldman, the cinematography, production designs, makeup effects, and some truly terrible stuff- Keanu, Wynonna Ryder (and those monkey ears!), and Sir Anthony Hopkins absolutely chewing up the scenery in one of his worst, most hammy roles ever (remember this actor's brilliance in THE ELEPHANT MAN and SILENCE OF THE LAMBS?).
But I digress...
I was worried that this season might devolve from the departing of the show's "leader" Frank Darabont. But I feel that it's just as strong and totally engrossing this season. The episode with Rick and Shane's physical altercation was fantastic- filled with suspense.
kaleyboy
03-10-2012, 06:00 PM
The main reason AMC got rid of Darabont is because he wanted to do a lot of side-story episodes that didn't add anything to the plot. For instance, his idea for the first episode of season 2 was lame: remember in season 1 when Rick came to Atlanta on a horse and got attacked by a mob of zombies? He escaped into a tank that had a zombie soldier inside it. Darabont wanted episode 1 of season 2 to be a whole flashback episode showing just how that soldier got to be in the tank, and would end with Rick shooting him. WTH?!!! First season is just a few episodes long, then fans wait a whole year for season 2 to air, and they would have been rewarded with a pointless filler episode. I think Darabont is no big loss to the show IMHO.

Very interesting. Thanks, kaleyboy.
I'd like to see that ep of the zombie soldier in the tank now.
I think it'd be great if they did this: Since there's a 2 month mid-season break, they could fill that time with one-off eps and flesh out (sorry, bad pun) the history of the characters and the zombie apocalypse for filler. That would more than hold me over while taking an imposed break from the main characters/storyline.

Spoiler Alert!!! For those who didn't see last nights episode!
This is a good explanation of how People turn into the Zombies if they aren't bitten it was taken from the comic books:
for those who missed the explanations earlier in the post: first of all, the knife had nothing to do with Shane or Randall turning. In the comics, it is revealed pretty early on that everyone carries the virus dormant, waiting for death to activate it. It doesn't matter how you die, you will turn UNLESS your brain is destroyed (Dale and the two guys in the bar were shot in the head, remember). A broken neck or a stab wound would NOT kill the brain, so the person would reanimate. The characters are apparently just figuring this out (except Rick, who was told by Jenner). He probably would have shot Shane as well, if Carl didn't arrive. DALE DID NOT TURN BECAUSE DARYL SHOT HIM IN THE HEAD to PUT HIM OUT of HIS MISERY! Dead brain = no turn. Dead without brain injury = turn....Sophia was attacked by a walker and bit in the neck (like Amy - notice the wound when she walks out of the barn).....Rick did not die in the hospital (although Shane thought he did) so he did not reanimate.....

Not sure about someone dying, however, I hear a whisper that... SPOLIER ALERT!!!... that we will get to meet Michonne for the first time on Sunday's final episode. It seems Andrea will get trapped alone in the woods with the zombie horde bearing down on her, she's out of ammo, has no mellee weapons to hand, the zombies are about to close in when... WHACK! Only slightly, they have changed stuff on TV from the comics. SPOILERS: Shane was dead by issue six of the comic, yet survived two seasons of the TV show, and Dale lived much longer in the comics, surviving the prison arc, etc. Who knows what else they might change to keep us guessing?

I don't read the comics but, man, am I wanting to. But base solely on my gut instinct (and I'm probably completely off), here's my predictions for those getting the "death by zombie" treatment:
1) Hershel (Maggie will never leave the farm as long as he's alive)
2) Maggie's suicidal sister (can't remember her name)
3) T-Dog (they've not done jack with him this season)

Finally caught last week's episode. Granted Shane was going off the deep end but there is power in numbers and he (along with Rick) are the reason why they've survived so far. With Shane gone, its only made them weaker. Daryl is a survivor but not a leader and the others don't stand much of a chance.
Yes, tonight's ep looking gooood. Not sure why they feel the need for a showdown. They should have had a plan in case the farm was overrun; a fall back spot to hide. Once the Z's move on, they could take back the farm. Maybe they were too busy washing dishes and keeping every light bulb in the house on instead :S

Yeah, Shane was a good character, but I guess there just isn't room enough for both him and Rick in the same show, lol. It's a gradual de-humanization of Rick's character, where he reaches the point that he will kill anything, or anyone, that threatens his and his family's survival. To give specifics would be too spoiler-ish, as these events happen way into the future, maybe season 4 or 5 if the show runs that long.

Dude! That was fantastically intense!!! By the time I went to bed last night, my lower back and stomach muscles were sore from being curled up in a knot on my couch. I bet I chewed off every fingernail I had. (Wait a sec....found one...) That was some great zombie killing.
Seems like I bombed on all my predictions.
It's a more dire situation now seeing as they're without supplies/ammo.
Regarding Lori's reaction to Rick's confession about killing Shane: I looked at my wife and we were both going "What's her problem?" She is so convoluted. I wonder if the writers are having trouble figuring out what to do with her. Probably not but they've got me confused. Doesn't seem like many fans are sympathetic towards her, that's for sure.
And everyone wanting to go their own way? Stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid. T Dawg wanting to go East to the coast......first I've of this. Maybe I just don't remember. I know they were heading to Ft. Benning initially.
It's harsh that they ran off and left Andrea but what else could you expect them to do? But it's cool because she's becoming more and more dependent on herself. Plus, the appearance of this Michonne chick.
Loved the "In Memoriam" segment on The Talking Dead afterwards. That was owning me! They should really include this show's eps with THE WALKING DEAD's when the 2nd season dvd set rolls out.

I went on Wikipedia and read up a little bit, at least to get a gist of what to expect next season. Should be good and very interesting. There's even an especially detailed character list of what has happened to many of the past and future secondary characters.
Beware if you do so! I don't know if Kirkman is holding true to certain characters' fates or not. He's already altered a couple of them over the last 2 seasons. If he doesn't adhere to the comic plots for each character (and I don't know that he is), it will still be very interesting to see how everything plays out.
I imagine it's quite fun for him to do things a little differently with the characters this time around.
I've got the entire 2nd season on dvr. May start watching it all over!

The Walking Dead Season 3: Michael Rooker Confirms His Return as Merle
3/17/2012 4:59 PM
At Image Expo earlier this month, Robert Kirkman teased that “Merle will be seen again”. We now have official confirmation from Michael Rooker himself, that he will be returning for The Walking Dead Season 3. Kirstian Hanson is currently covering WonderCon for Daily Dead and let us know that Michael Rooker announced his return as Merle during the Lollipop Chainsaw panel.
While Rooker didn’t go into much more detail, he did mention that he lost 20 lbs for the role. For those that have read the comic, feel free to speculate as to how that may tie into the upcoming events of the show.
The Walking Dead season 3 begins shooting in May, with 16 episodes planned. We’ll update this story if any additional information on Merle is revealed during the show.

Great finale. Loved how the herd formed over time. Not sure why Rick & company didn't have a plan if the farm was overrun -- couple safe houses stocked with supplies, cars always fueled up, etc. It was all very crisis management as they scattered to the wind. Lil Jimmy boy got taken down like a punk. Where was his gun? Why was the door to the RV unlocked? But I digress...
Can someone who read the comics explain Michonne to me? What I'm curious about is why the two zombies she has chained don't attack her? Does chopping off their arms and lower jaws somehow make them docile? Hard to believe. What I'm worried about is, while comics can take on a fantastical aspect and get away with it, this TV series has come away as a very realistic drama. I hope the mystique of Michonne is not too far fetched.

She actually uses the two zombies as a defence against other zombies (in the comic). One of them is her former boyfriend, and by keeping them chained and at arms length, but constantly with her, it stops her being attacked by other walkers. Maybe because their smell covers her own, like when Rick & Glen escaped from the building in Atlanta. Trust me, Michonne is very much a reality-based character, nothing mystical about her.

Michonne is one of the most disturbing yet satisfying character in the comic books... The things that she does is just mind blowing... I forgot the actress name who plays Michonne but is she british???

Thanks. That would make sense. Any idea why they still don't try to attack her?

Haha. So you think eating their own kind gave them an upset tummy? But seriously, there's been Z's with no legs, etc and they're still trying to get you, so there's got to be an explanation on why these two have lost their appetite.

That's very true. I don't know. It's definitely a poser and I'd imagine everyone else is picking up on that, too. Surely it'll be addressed next season. As kaleyboy stated according to the comics, if one of them is a former boyfriend, how demented is that keeping him around as a zombie?:ooh:
(Maybe they're housebroken. "Who's a good zombie? You are. Yes, you are." Kissy, kissy, kissy.)

Well they have no arms and no lower jaw, so the best they could do is give her a nasty suck. Lol, the kinky bitch might even enjoy it!:xd:

You mean the one with Mena Suvari, Ving Rhames, and Nick Cannon? Meh. Had its moments but I didn't really find it all that thoroughly scary.

Yeah, pass on that. The movie is laughable, ruined Ving Rhames' career forever.
