I'll definitely see the film as I have all 5 movies in a boxset but I disagree with this latest installment. I know many think Rocky 5 was the weakest of the series but it brought the character full circle - back to the streets of Philly. The final street battle between him and his protege was perfect. If it were set in a boxing ring, it would have come off too hokey. I hope he doesn't do a Rambo 4 next. Yo Rock! We all luv ya but dem days is over.

Um Teak, check the various film websites, Rambo 4 is in pre-production, story based on Rambo living in the jungles of Thailand coming out to rescue some aid workers.
And as for the new film, it looks interesting and I will probably see it.
If you want the lowdown, check www.aintitcool.com featuring a 3 part Q&A with Stallone, very funny stuff, he is not afraid to really tear into himself. Some of the answers are sorta nonsensical but they show his sense of humor and that he can laugh at his mistakes.

Yeah I had read rumors a while ago about Rambo (I just didn't want to believe it). Its like Indy 4. Lots of talk over the years and by the time they get to it, Harrison Ford will be collecting social security. Oh wait, he's already eligible! Ack!!

I thought Rambo was going to be living back in America and taking on Neo-Nazis!

I wonder if Rocky will die in this film? Sly said that Rocky was originally supposed to die in part 5 put the producers put pressure on him to change it. I personally wouldn't want to see such a lovable character die but this might be the way Stallone wants to go out with the character. whatever happens this definately needs to be the last one, Sly has milked this formula for all it's worth and theres nothing left but old age showing.

They filmed 3 endings for the film, I believe they will keep it under wraps until it comes out.
Sly did talk about filming the fight in the movie that he did it with the same camera positions and method that HBO Boxing uses to film their fights.

He talked about the film during Monday Nite Football. There's no Adrian in this one. She died and he's trying to come to grips with that. Think I'll wait for it to come on DVD...

Apparently, advance word from previews is that it's a lot better than anticipated.

Well I hope it is good, I'd like to see Stallone go out on a high note with the character that "made" him.

Actually if you read the interviews I listed above which now total 6 pages of questions he answers, and they are funny, he addresses that a few different ways.
He wants to transition into writing these days. Remember he wrote the Oscar winning screenplay for Rocky. Rambo 4 is not a confirmed go either. He eludes to having some more roles like the one he had in Copland possibly lined up but that's it.

Here it is again:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=DttxKIA_AxU (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DttxKIA_AxU)
They had it up, then deleted it, and re-posted it, now it's on the front page of youtube. okie dokie.
Him doing Rocky again... is ok I guess. But for Rambo? I dunno. I like the Rambo character more than Rocky. I wonder if he'll still look good with long hair. :lol

He's the guy that beat Roy Jones twice ain't he? I remember him telling Jones at the beginning of their second fight: "You got any excuses tonight Roy?" I believe they both were legends in their own minds. Jones thought he was unbeatable but got proved wrong. No matter how good you are there's always somebody out there better. Wonder what Tommy Morrison is doing these days? When he found out he had AIDS he pretty much vanished and I havn't heard any follow up stories since.

I saw this movie yesterday. I was never a hardcore Rocky fan, but I did enjoy the movies. This one was very good. I don’t know how much movie life Stallone has left, but this was probably the best way to conclude his series.
Tarver did okay with the role he had. They don’t give him too much time to be annoying and he isn’t really a “villain” boxer in this movie. They actually have a few scenes to give you some sympathy for him since he needs to be “tested” since he is undefeated in the movie and needs a big fight, not too much sympathy though. Lol.
No matter how good you are there's always somebody out there better.
The funny thing is how this movie is probably more beneficial to Tarver’s career now than before. I remember watching HBO last June with the Tarver vs. Bernard Hopkins fight. It was supposed to be Hopkins last fight. Tarver had just dropped all the weight he gained for the Rocky movie. Tarver was supposed to win easily. Oh man! He got dominated at almost every point of the fight.
Now, he is trying to use the movie to lure Hopkins to come out of retirement for a rematch:

Oh yeah, the real bad guys in the movie are the HBO announcers. Lol! I can’t stand them anymore.

I got to watch this movie last night and I really didnt know what to expect at all, but I wasn't really surprised that it was a very good movie and it seemed like a good tribute to end a great characters career. Overall the whole Rocky franchise has been an enjoyable series, and this one was not a let down by any means.

I liked it alot, I had a big smile on my face for most of the film. The ending was perfect. But I suspect some people in my showing didn't like it judging by their reaction.

i haven't seen the movie yet, but check out these reviews at... www.rottentomatoes.com/m/rocky_balboa/ (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/rocky_balboa/)
certain reviews that are linked there really piss me off. i've seen them review some of my favorite titles, and a few critics usually don't know what they're talking about. for the others, they pick a movie apart so much that it makes ya probably not want to see it ever again. some critics are too much, why don't they make a movie, i say.

Sly took Rocky out a winner in this one. My only complaint would be the fight itself wasn't dramatized enough for my likings, but everything else in the film made up for it. Great movie.
