Is this out on DVD yet and if so, can anyone give their opinion of it and how it compares to Chan Woo Park's other films? I've enjoyed all his films so far altough some of the over the top violence was unsettling to me. He really knows how to keep you interested with his plot twists and his style is fresh and exciting. I like his films much better than movies like Ichi the Killer, which in my opinion was over the top gross out trash.

I just got my Sympahy For Lady Vengeance DVD in the mail last week from cd-wow. Unfortunately I have yet had time to watch it. Im a huge fan of Chan Woo Park, and have yet to be let down by any of his films. All the reviews Ive read have been very positive as well. Im sure the HK DVD is available at any of the usuall suspects (ie cd-wow, yesasia, dddhouse, hkflix, ect..)

Thanks for the info GwaiLoMoFo. I'd be interested in your opinion when you get a chance to watch it. The only two of Park's I've seen are Old Boy and Mr. Vengeance and they were both great.
I just saw this last night, I won't give to much away, but I will say Chan-wook Park is at the top of his game, he is one of the most innovative directors out there right now. Lady Vengeance is a little more like Mr. V. then Oldboy, but much more refined, it's definitely one you have to see more than once, as it can get confusing, but it all comes together in the end. The lovely Yeong-ae Lee as Lee Geum-Ja plays the part to the T. I'd like to hear what you thought about it Gwailomofo.
I'd also recommend A bitter Sweet Life, one of the best movies of 2005.

Thanks for the info Tosh. I''l probably order A Bittersweet Life along with Lady Vengeance. Thanks for recommending it guys.
After watching this again, I will say Chan-wook Park is the best director working today - period - and I’m not being bias as an Asian film fan. Consequently, if you’re a easily offended Christian, you may want to avoid this movie.:evil :p

I'd say this is the weakest of the three "vengeance" films. It has its moments but in my opinion didn't set up the ending well enough.
I’d have to disagree with you about it being the weakest one, S For Mr. Vengeance would be mine, to me it was a bit scattered , and tried to be a little to arty sometimes, it seemed to me that he smoothed out some scenes that he tried to do the first time. Oldboy was another movie altogether, and the better movie out of the 3, imo.
What a great trilogy, can’t wait to see what this guy does next.
