Since the Cylons wrecked the ezBoard servers and deleted a good thread on Season One, I thought it was time to begin a thread for Season 2.
First episode airs July 15 in the US on SCI FI. Sometime in October in the UK on Sky One. (Sorry limubai - don't know the air date for Guam).
Ok, let the games commence .... :D

I've not seen any of the new Battlestar Galactica. Is this show better than Space: Above and Beyond? Someone told me they were very similar.

That means 1 week later for Guam... I don't have cable TV in my new place which means I'll be downloading it off LimeWire or something which is fine by me.
BG blows Space Above and Beyond to tiny smoldering bits. Tho I did like SAAB, BG shows how a sci fi show should really be done. Lucas should be taking notes for the Star Wars TV shows rolling out next year.

I only saw the New stuff recently and I have to say I was convinced I would not like it (I mean, Starbuck a woman!)
I have to say though, it was excellent and cannot wait for the 2nd season to air here in the UK.
I also noticed similarities w/ Space: above And Beyond (which I really liked btw) but maybe that is just me :D

I tend to agree with you leung jarn about being skeptical with this series when I first read about Starbuck being a woman (and other changes from the original show) but also because I thought the series might be full of fluff. Many sci-fi productions suffer from a "cheese factor" and only attract what many non sci-fi fans call "geeks," "nerds," etc. (Despite all the success the Star Wars films have had, I still find people criticizing them as films for geeks.) In any event, this new BSG series stands out as some of the best science fiction TV writing I've had the pleasure of viewing. And yes, I do hope Lucas takes notes for his new series because BSG has set the bar for future productions (on the small screen).
I just hope the creative minds behind BSG can maintain that level for season two (and beyond).

So... anyone watch?
Still on the fence with the first episode of Season 2. Had its pluses & minuses. Looking forward to the next few chapters to see if they can maintain that magic they had in Season One.
To be continued....
{edit}
Just watched Ep 202 - Valley of Darkness. An improvement over the first one. Three major storylines going on and they all kept my interest. I especially liked Starbuck's "break." It really gave you a chance to take a breath and reflect on what has really happened to their world (and their lives). If anyone is interested, the piano piece in this episode is called "Metamorphosis" by Phillip Glass and it can downloaded here (http://24.193.145.155:2600/Misc/tempybsg/Philip_GlassMetamorphosis_1.mp3).

I watched the mini-series yesterday. I was quite surprised, it was good for a made-for-tv sci-fi show. Unlike all my friends, I cannot recall the original series, but I liked this show. I understand it's more series than the original, but I think it works. Well thought-out, pretty good special effects, and the primary actors weren't bad. The space battles were pretty cool too. Rock on! I can't wait for the series to start over here.

Had my doubts about the show till I saw it, loved the appearence of the old Cylon in the pilot and show has gone from strength to strength..
Original Appollo Richard Hatch playing a rebel with questionable motives, Grace Park breaking hearts and giving very solid performences, the rest of the cast being solid, great SFX, some nice action and the plot keeps twisiting and turning to keep you interested, most recent episode of season 2 with Lucy Lawless impressed and never been a fan of her....and watch out for the original theme turning up at a strategic moment
Only 2 more episodes to go I think before the show stops airing new episodes till the New Year, so Blightly will get a chance to catch up me thinks
