Hi..I am just curious which one you feel is better?I cannot decide.part 1 is low on action but CKT is bit cooler than Ti Lung and part 1 has well crafted story and sometimes feels more thriller than kung fu movie. On the other hand part 2 is loaded with fights and high adrenaline finale kept me pulling my jaw off from floor back skull.

Both are great. I think it is a tie.

I am yet to see Part 2, would of preferred a true sequel with CKT.

It is true sequel with continue of storyline even as CKT is not around.Do not ignore it because of CKT absence, it`s truly great movie.

Ok, will check it out
Flying Guillotine 1 is definitely a better movie. Both the story and the action are much more interesting.
Personally, I fast forwarded a lot while watching Flying Guillotine 2. The plot is so boring - there is nothing new. Even though I am a fan of Ti Lung, I have to admit that Chen Kuan Tai stole the show in Flying Guillotine 1. He was so good - definitely a must-watch movie.

"Both the story and the action are much more interesting in part 1".
I agree on story definitely but not on action.Action is as good in part 2 and there is lot more of it.In part 1 there ain`t enough,I think in total there is about 10 mins and that ain`t what I expect from martial arts movie.Good story and strong performance by CKT make up for that but I can predict in future part 2 will be in my player lot more often than part 1.
And about "The plot is so boring - there is nothing new. " That would appear to most kung-fu films, same formulas are recycled again and again. But at least Flying Guillotine2 has better storyline than your usual avenge death of sifu/father or escort gold/important person to destination and protect it from bandits.

rewatched part 2, not a bad movie, still give part one the nod.storyline is just not that good.when ti lung is on screen the movie kicks ass,but he's not really in it all that much.as far as the action goes the beginning and ending sequences are awesome, the rest not so much.one thing I did notice that was awesome was at about the 1:15 marker yuen woo ping gets spiked-hammer smashed to a tree and then gets killed again 2 or 3 minutes later gotta love it.and also does ku feng ever give a bad performance if so i would like to know, his performance as the evil emperor is really the movies best part.

Ku Feng is, from memory, one of the major reasons I prefer Part 2.

Part 1.
Did Wei Pai play one of the emperor's guards? It would be towards the end of the film - the scene on the cliff.
The original is a perfect movie down to the score.
2 is good but gets convoluted, more in the vein of a clan movie.

Yes.

(Just for the record - that's not the reason why I prefer part 1 to part 2...;-))
