AAAARGH! Yup, I saw it...to be honest it was intense and disturbing BUT just another remake.... except this time, the zombies are more athletic. Geeeeze.. what's the matter? the hollywood scriptwriters so strung out on crack they can’t come up with an original idea these days? Far too many remakes the past few years… Come on, we all have seen that movie done again and again. Give me something NEW…

It looks real cool ...
But if we get the same thing as we got with 28days Later a film that really SUCKED!!!!!...
It,s gonna stink...
I want to see a good Zombie feast..
I want non-stop Gore & Volence.....
Not rape scenes and off camera killings...
That,s what they did in 28-Sucking Days Later....
That,s not scary ,just plain out boring...

I can't imagine the remake surpassing the classic Argento/Romero film. Some things should be left alone. :\
And since some of you ahve already seen it and it didn't blow you away, I can't help but think" why bother?" Did the remake have any of the humor of the original?

I just saw the Remake today and it was Funny, Stupid, I don't know how these Zombies Run faster than O.J. Simpson, because there DEAD!!! Some of the Characters are just so Stupid, You just want to shoot them yourselves you'll find yourself yelling at the Movie screen just like everyone else. Overall it was enjoyable but I think it would be nice if Hollywood would come out with a different type of Zombie Movie. In the end I would either buy a Bootleg or wait for it on Video.

I thought it was a great ride (my wife enjoyed it as well). The zombies were relentless from beginning to end, and the bodycount was high. It didn't have the same humor of the original, but that didn't deter my enjoyment of the film. The cameos (from the original) were great as well. The running zombies didn't appeal to me in 28 Days Later, but for some reason, it didn't really bother me with this remake. This film may not appeal to everyone, but since I'm a hardcore zombie film fan, I'll welcome it to my collection when it hits DVD.

I saw this yesterday and was so immersed in the frenzied action I half expected to be assaulted by a mob of undead when I emerged from the theater. The original is still the best, but this was definitely a fun flick on its own.

Did anybody stick around for the credits to see another scene showing the survivors reaching the island only to eaten my a mob of zombies? Great film though. Some things I liked better here and some things I liked better in the original. The remake also reminded me of the Italian zombie flicks with its fairly extreme gore and violence, zombie babies, zombie kids, arterial sprays of gushing blood and a final scene similar to something out of a Fulci film.

28 days later wasnt really a zombie movie, they were infected with a rage virus, so it makes sence for them to run, because they are NOT dead, thus making them NOT zombies.
As for dawn of the dead remake, I enjoyed it (except for the olympic running zombies :x ) but I didnt go into the movie thinking of it as a remake, because the only real simalarities between it and the old version are the name and the fact that it takes place in a mall....
but all in all, good gore, good zombie makeup, some cheesy parts (i.e. the stupid girl and her dog) but, hey, its a zombie movie.

So its perfectly acceptable that the dead can rise up again and walk around and try to eat people, but as soon as they break into a run thats when it gets unbelievable? Why the hell can't a zombie run?

I thought the original was crap.................I thought the remake was crap..... Personally I love Zombie movies but none of them, including the original Night of the Living Dead, are great films.

No way, man! the original Dawn of the Dead is a classic. I bought that box set with the three cuts of the film - that's how much I love the movie. I'm looking forward to Land of The Dead too!!

I think the original 'Dawn of the Dead' is teh best one of that trilogy. The new one's not bad on its own terms.
