My House by the cemetary DVD still haven't shipped yer so i can modify my order. I seen they finally got The Beyond back and thank god, it's the Anchor Bay version! I'll show you the cover for it:

So is that the Anchor Bay DVD? Here's another cover which i think is the Anchor BAy one:

But do the specs refers to the disc i want?
Now about the movie itself, is there lots of gore/action? More than in Zombie(which is the only Lucio movie i have). And should i still get House by the cemetary also (the 4$ DVD version though)?

Thanks again guys!

ok, the first cover you listed actually is the cover for the anchor bay version, however the 2nd cover you listed is included on a card (is this what they a lobby card?) inside the disc(on the back of which is the chapter listings), and also on the top of the disc itself. i have this version though and the special features listed on the back cover read a little differently than the ones you listed:.
-rare on-set interview with fulci included on my copy
-fulci filming demonia not listed
-no alternate scenes listed
the rest of the specs appear the same, and since i don't really care much for "extras", i didn't go thru and watch them so i don't know about these apparant discrepancies.
while there is action and gore, and i enjoyed this movie thoroughly, it doesn't measure up to the great Zombie imo.
haven't seen house by the cemetary yet so i don't know about that one, but i'll keep my eyes peeled, esp for $4.

The second cover shown is the one that's on the limited edition of The Beyond that came in a tin box, kind of like a small lunchbox. That's the one I've got. I'm not certain, but I think other than the packaging, the disc is exactly the same, so you're not missing anything... unless you're just a really big fan of tin boxes or somethin'. :) Great movie, one of Fulci's best... the gore content is pretty close to Zombie, so it's really extreme. And it's got some "Lovecraftian" touches to it, which work pretty well. There's a little story about it that's a little weird... when they were filming some of the zombie-attack scenes Fulci wanted the actors to shoot the zombies point-blank in the face, and the actors refused to do it because even though the guns were shooting blanks, it would've killed the guys playing the zombies! (anybody remember what happened to John Eric Hexum?) So, Fulci was apparently a bit nuts when he was making this one. One of the zombies did get shot point-blank in the shoulder and ended up bleeding from the blank discharge, but wasn't seriously hurt. Fulci could be hard on actors...

There's also a couple of pretty good hidden easter eggs on the DVD... here's the instructions from http://www.dvdeastereggs.com/showEgg.php?eggid=382&grabEggs=b

One of the Easter eggs is a trailer for Lucio Fulci's Cat in the Brain (aka Nightmare Concert) and it's hidden in the "Images From the Beyond" menu underneath the "eye". To access it merely highlight the subtle symbol of Eibon on the right side of the screen.

The second Easter egg is in the "Audio Setup" menu underneath the ear of poor Emily. This Easter egg is what appears to be the opening of the US hack job 7 Doors of Death.

I got this movie with a "color introduction"!? What can you tell me about this version? Is the normal intro only in B/W, or something?

Usually (especially in the edited "Seven Doors of Death" versions), the intro bit is in sepia-toned black and white (just for atmosphere, I guess), but Anchor Bay dug up the color footage, so they included that. It's the same footage, just without being graded over to sepia, I think...

What a great movie! Fantastic. This one is really close to Zombie IMO. Even gorier. Now i have Zombie, House by the Cemetary and The Beyond. I still have to get City of the Living Dead on DVD too. Gotta love Fulci...
Also i'll go check out the Easter Egg's later today, didn't know there were hidden stuff on this DVD, that's pretty cool. For the DVD, there's so much extras, interviews, different audio tracks, trailers that i'm in heaven. Can't be beat.
For the movie itself, well it's Fulci stuff to the best.My only let-down is that Zombies comes out only like 15 minutes before the end and the fact that the zombies themselves aren't as good-looking as the ones in Zombie (specially the one on the cover with worms in the eye...best zombie EVER!!). Lots of blood, zoom-in on the actor's eyes, superb scenery and music that perfectly blends in the atmosphere created by Fulci.
So now i only need City of the Living Dead. I'll make a new thread about it, check it out!

Fulci Lives!
