I got a laptop a couple months ago and just about every other site I go to is blocked. Somethign called dan's Guardian comes up. Does anyone know how I can make it so I can look at any site on my computer?

BTW-I know it may be a stupid question but I suck at computers.

u got an active web filter on your system.
dansguardian.org/?page=whatisdg (http://dansguardian.org/?page=whatisdg)
its a unit u bought used ? or with pre-installed os and some other apps slapped on it already ?
dispose of the little fu**er or adjust the filter settings to your likings.
(although i`d say uninstall, who needs that crap anyways :rolleyes ;) )

As jmungus said,y ou need to adjust the the filter setting, to do so install the DansGuardian GUI - this allows you to easily configure the DansGuardian configuration files, otherwise it would be a pain trying to adjust the setting.

I think I found the configuration where it says trusted sites, blocked sites, and that stuff in a security section.

How do I install Dansguardian GUI?

And how do I uninstall?

Thanks for the help. Do you know what a template is?

I am gonna have to go to Best Buy or something and have somebody help me cause I can't figure any of this out. THis could take years for me to try and figure out over the internet.

DOes anyone know where to go to do these 2 things?
I can't find Dans Guardian anywhere on my computer so I can't do anything to it.

3. Uninstalling dgbypass
Move the old template.html back and then delete the following files:Code:
/etc/logrotate.d/dgbypass
/home/gi-bin/passwords.cgi (httpd/cgi-bin/passwords.cgi)
/home/tml/denied.html (httpd/html/denied.html)
/var/log/dansguardian/dgbypass.log

4. Uninstalling (No Need To Uninstall if upgrading, only if you want to remove it permanently)
Code:
/var/smoothwall/mods/filtering/Gui/install-dggui.sh -U

On the Dan's Guardian web page it says under the "how do I remove it" page "you are looking in the wrog place". Does anyone know hw I would speak to te ISP or network manager?

By those dir snapshots it appears you are running Linux?

If you are running Windows a simple visit to Add/Remove Programs under Control Panel will remove most programs easily.

Anybody? Over half the pages on this site alone are blocked for me.
