Any Killing Joke or metal fans out their should go and listen to Killing Joke's self-titled album from 2003. It caught me quite by surprise. Dave Grohl plays the drums on this one, and it's simply a very original metal CD, not fitting into any name-category. It's medium-paced, mostly with a growling vocal, but sometimes melodic too. It's sound nothing like their older EBM/punk work.
Jaz Coleman has also recently been appointed as the EU's Composer of Residence.

I've heard some fo their stuff. Pretty good music. But I don't think I've heard anything off the self-titled release. Thanks for the tip jirpy100.

Hey, that is a great album. I more of an old-school Killing Joke fan, particularly their (slightly) more mellow and melodic stuff from the 80's (Firedances, Night Time, Brighter than a Thousand Suns)---I prefer it when Jaz actually sings instead of just growling, but that 2003 album is a rocker, and does have a lot of great songs on it. I saw them in Boston on that tour, and Jaz does resemble a completely insane, frightening grandmother. :rollin

Love that album, and saw them on that tour when they played London. the latest one's pretty good too; 'Hosannas from the Basements of Hell' although it has a very raw and dirty sound - lots of growling from Jaz
