Shinsengumi Chronicles

Has anybody seen this movie starring Ichikawa Raizo and Wakayama Tomisaburo which was directed by Kenji Misumi? I was thinking about picking it up after hearing about who was in it and directed it.

It is a good Shinsengumi story. The Shinsengumi were a Kyoto police force in the last days of the Shogunate. They have some interesting history to them. The thing that is great about this movie is it takes a different approach in the story telling compared to the rest. It focuses on the "Spy" of the group played by Raizo. Most of the Shinsengumi movies usually focuses on one of the popular members of the group, but this movie is an exception and is good for that. Get it.
