Kaji Meiko's "Lady Snowblood" the first of the series has been released today by Animeigo on DVD. The movie soundtrack includes the song "The Flower of Carnage" now heard on Tarantino's Kill Bill. Another great Japanese film!

I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks that Lady Snowblood is okay, but not amazing or anything. It's hard to say what I didn't like about it. Maybe I just didn't find her swordplay to be as brutal or believable. Perhaps I was expecting something as gory and awesome as the Lone Wolf & Cub films. I thought the sequel was even less entertaining. But, that's just me!
