Musashi Miyamoto Proliferations

Has anyone seen "Elevation to the Two Sword Style?" Is it worth tracking down? Also, can anyone tell me anything about the film? Any other good non-"Samurai" trilogy Musashi films worth getting? Which are the best? One more question, does anyone else watch the "Musashi" series on the international channel here in the states? What do you think?

I am not sure which one is "Elevation of the Two Sword Style", but I liked the one starring Hideki Takahashi with the english title "Sword of Fury" in two parts. The Nakamura five part series I enjoy, but it is kind of slow for me...now I think of it the unofficial 6th movie deals with something related to your title, but I know that series as "Zen and Sword". The 1967 Kojiro movie I like, but that is Kojiro's story.

try to find a TV-mini series called "Sorekara no Musashi" starring KITAOJI Kinjya, it's unbelievable. Great fighting, superb story and steller performance by KITAOJI as Musashi!

The movie is part 3 of a 6 part series staring Nakamura Kinnosuke as Musashi with Ken Takakura as Sasaki Kojiro Directed by Tomuj Uchida and distributed by Toei. The 6 films were produced from 1960 to 1970. This series was based on Yoshikawa’s book and is probably the best Musashi series. I liked this one more than the Mifune series actually and would recommend it to anyone interested in Musashi

I picked mine up from Samurai Video years ago, not sure if he still has them, but the ebay store Asian films DVD (stiller66aol) has the first 5 on DVD with English subtitles.

I bought some DVDRs from this guy and they're pretty decent. Quick, safe, shipping and he doesn't try and hide the fact that these are bootlegs (they come with some pretty killer homemade cases though). Stay away from his copy of "Sword of Doom" though, at times it's so pixelated that I'm tempted to turn it off very time I watch it.
