I've been using DVD-R's to burn movies (TDK & Sony, since I've been informed that they are class-A). However, what's the difference when using DVD+R's.

I only use single-layer, and the kid at the Best Buy said that DVD+R is better for data & DVD-R is better for movies. Is this true?

I only want to use good quality for trading, etc!

Neither, proper retail dvd bought from a company that profesionally distributes films is the best :rollin :rollin

Wow, great advice.

However, if you have an answer to the question I asked... (considering this is the "buying, selling, & TRADING" section)

THAT would REALLY help!!!

Of course, Factory Pressed dvds of offical titles are the best but for the 1,000s of movies that have no offical release. It doesn't really matter +/- are really about the same. - was said to work better with most players but nowdays it's no difference really. either is really fine for copies.

Actually most films have some official release somewhere, it's just that people are too lazy to look for them....:lol

this topic again?

Anyways, DVD+r are better. More durable, less problems, the -r is a much older format, +r is newer.

Use taiyo yuden silver top +r's

I agree. Alot of films HAD official releases.

Look around and you will find them.

However in the interim, DVD -/+r seems to be the current rave. I have used both and -r seems to be more prevalent however it seems to fall below +r.

Anybody remember betamax?:rollin

DVD+r discs. The technology itself is more advanced than DVD-r write and read technology.
But make sure your DVD player is able to play the format whatever you will do.
