First off, I love the website fellas. It's been very helpful.

So, a couple months ago randomly I came across Master of the FLying Gullotine on Showtime and it brought back the good old times of Kung Fu Theater and I remembered how much I love those movies. I decided to go to the store and and luckily found 36 Chambers, Shaolin Master Killer, and 8 Diagram Pole Fighter.

8 Diagram Pole fighter was the only watchable one in my opinion. The other two had horrendous audio and video quality that was incredibly distracting. All the DVDs I bought were from Red Sun (which I guess is bootleg?).

The Buyer's Guide has helped a lot in terms of quality companies but I'd still like to know if there are certain websites you'd recommend and if any are in the States? Do I basically have to go with VCD?

I've downloaded the above problem movies and the downloads had better quality but I don't want to go through the process of downloading and burning for every movie I want.

Any advise would help for a newbie, thanks!

My personal favorite websites:
www.deepdiscountdvd.com USA
http://www.dddhouse.com HK
www.hkflix.com USA
www.cdwow.com UK

I would recommend researching certain titles before you decide to actually buy. You should definitely stay away from Pan Media/Red Sun. I would recommend picking up the pathfinder version of Master of the FLying Gullotine and Dragon Dynasty version of 36th Chamber of Shaolin.

Thanks, I'll definitely check those websites.

I was so surprised when I stumbled on this website and realized all the intricacies of buying these movies.

Not sure of your location but its definitely worht it to invest in a region free player.

They can be bought so cheap nowadays and your options then become limiteless.

I found a few REALLY nice sites that tell you how to hack your DVD player & make it region free (similar to getting all the weapons on playstation games). As long as you don't have SONY or Toshiba, MOST models are hackable. Try phillips, magnavox, RCA, etc.

PS: if I remember my fave sites, i'll post 'em.
