What happened to the main site? There seems to be less reviews then there once was, and it loads much slower. :(

Do you mean the movie reviews done by Mark Pollard? If this is what you are talking about then we both are having the same issues. When you enter in a title for a film you get no results. I REALLY liked the old click on a letter A-Z format MUCH better.

Yeah meaning Marks reviews. Apparently all the reviews and info haven't migrated over according to the link oldschool provived. Thanks for the link!

Hopefully he'll get the upgrade sorted when he finds the time. It seemed at one time you could nearly find most any old school kung fu flick with a release reviewed on the site, it would be nice to get back there again. The dvd specs being especially useful.

Several concerns were voiced here and I'll try to answer all of them.

I still have a lot of old material on file to sort through and re-post. All of the reviews written by other authors have been left out for the time being since moving to a blog format. I would have to create dummy accounts to post in their name and I haven't decided how I want to handle that since I'm basically the only reviewer now. One way or another, the reviews will be filled out.

As for the sorting, you can still look up available titles alphabetically. You just need to click on the "Title" header in the reviews index.

DVD comparisons will return. I had left that info off while considering new ways of presenting it. Regardless, this info was also in need of revision.

I am aware that the site loads slower than it used to. It has all been databased for the first time which causes some additional loading. It was necessary to move away from simple, fast-loading HTML pages as the amount of content was becoming unmanageable. I will keep looking at ways to optimize database performance.

Thanks for the filling us in! The load times are manageable, it's just good to know that the stuff missing isn't lost for good.
