Wether it was the wink in a girls eye that sparkled as she spoke that struck-me dumb, the way that Korean girl smiled as she walked
away, the heat within a thriller, the complexity of tones woven into the action or the highs and lows of some sweeping drama - upon
reflection I will never remember exactly what it was that caught my attention first. One thing I do know is that I am a fan now of the
world of Korean Cinema. It's too late for me but for you it might not be so turn back while you still can. That is of course unless you
hope to learn more. Still there? If you are what i hope to provide is a view for you. Most people are in the dark when it comes to Korean
films. There probably will not be many to read or even comment on any of my reviews because most people have no idea what these
films are about. Still I do offer you a view, and that is what it is, a view a ''peek'' at what it's like - but let me tell you now and you can
see that i wrote it if ever that one day comes and you discover it for yourself. That view, could never be as beautiful as the view you
would have yourself if only you opened the window. For fans of Japanese films or "Strictly" Chinese films i urge to relax your sword
hands. Drop down from the shadows loosen you black belts, burn your secret manuals full of passwords and codes. It's time to
acknowledge the new kid on the block. Don’t fret even though they do come in force they are hardly ever armed with anything more
than a smile. Korean films are wonderful i hope you will enjoy my reviews. And now without further ado Hellcats (2007) - 뜨거운 것이 좋아

Hellcats also known to some by it's alternate more suggestive title ''I like it hot'' does not have as much to do with three woman who
are out for hot sex as the title and the original poster might suggest. I was glad to find there was a story within or rather "three stories"
that involved these three women. It all takes place on three different levels which affects the viewer in three different ways. All of them
are beautiful as the women in this film are. The proverbial ''Chick Flick'' in all honesty i couldn’t help but enjoy myself while watching it
unfold. It starts off a little like this there are three girls living together going through different stages in life all with different problems but
there is one more thing that they do have in common although their stories are all somewhat separate. Love. They are all just trying to
find love. Ah-mi who plays the 25 yr old (the one in the middle) in where the part was being filled by Kim Min-hee (김민희) , the
youngest Kang-ae who is around 14 or 15 played by Ahn So-hee (안소희) and the oldest and most seductive of them all -
Kang-ae's mother who was played by Lee Mi-sook (이미숙) she plays Young-mi. Young-mi is a dance instructor at a studio single,
lonely, Kang-ae just a teen who finds that there are other feelings she has blossoming she is feeling for the first time a schoolgirl and
Ah-mi (Kang-ae's auntie) who is a struggling screenwriter for two years unable to have her first film get over the road of the ''written''
stage. Mostly the reason that could be is because her so called friend a self professed Director (who has never directed a movie ever)
has asked her to re-write the ending around 37 times. Ah-mi (2nd oldest, the screenwriter) seemed perplexed. Questioning what will
become of her own end. Tragedy? Comedy? But it is when she encounters her boyfriend with another woman in his room that things
really began get hot and i dont mean under the blankets. She does find him cheating and she is furious but although her boyfriend does
not really know it and only accusses defensively Ah-mi has just come back from a blind date with a guy that she met on the internet!

Young-mi (Ah-mi's older sister) is also going through a most difficult time. I like her the best she has great strong looks and a way
about her that spoke of some strong unspoken resilience. She carries herself that way throughout the film. Young-mi has problems
as well it seems with finding true love thinking there is no love and only sex. She uses a dancer for sex (actually it is unclear who uses
who). He calls her honey and she asks turning her head ''Who's your honey?". And then just when she wants to get rid of him she finds
out she is going through menopause. She fears she is loosing her life or that her life is passing her by and so she suddenly becomes
filled with vigor and passion to fall in love or feel what love is really about. She thinks love is a stupid thing and says so. [Awakenings]

The youngest Kang-ae played by Ahn So-hee (안소희) of ''Wondergirls'' fame (a korean pop group) has a whole set of different
emotions in this third side of three tales. This one broadens out like a coming of age for teenagers with a twist. I thought this film was
good in that respect because it gave the opportunity for anyone who watched this movie to feel they could somehow understand what
was going on. Something for everyone (3 different age groups). Wether it was from the male or female perspective as told by either the
male or female movie driven roles. Kang-ae who is Young-Mi's daughter (played by Lee Mi-sook (이미숙) does eventually try and
convey her emotions to a boy boy she has a crush on (or at least she thinks she does). It turns out that she actually has lesbian
tendencies for her best friend a self proffesed ''dating expert'' the very beautiful always cute Jo Eun-ji I (조은지) who plays Mi-ran.

This is my first time seeing any of these girls on film although i had recognized Ahn So-hee (안소희) who plays Kang-ae from the
K-POP group ''Wondergirls". I have included her video she plays the girl dressed as ''Wonder--woman'' in the video. In closing i would
like to apologize for any typos i wrote most of this at one shot. I do recommend this film. Korean films generally have an offbeat sense
of humor that cannot help to get you to smile and also i would recommend this film purely for the babes in it but seriously i would
recommend it most because it was really interesting to find out what was going to happen to these individuals. That is always a sign
wether from the Director or Writer that they knew how to do i things thoughtfully. Once you begin to care for what happens to the people
on the screen in the end it is the sign as i said of talent and respectable levels of quality usually follow as was the case with this film.

I did not know what hellcats was about it just happens to be the one i decided to watch last week but i was not disappointed.
I give this one a rating of 8.0 out of 10. Official website. Trailer 뜨거운 것이 좋아 http://www.hot2008.co.kr/
