I just heard the director also wrote some soundtrack material. Anybody have any insight into this? For whatever reason I got a good chuckle about this.

Yes he wrote the lyrics to a number of his movies such as TRAIL OF THE BROKEN BLADE (1967), THE ASSASSIN (1967), THE SINGING THIEF (1969) and BRAVE ARCHER 3 (1981) if I remember right.

lol..... that was good.
We need someone to translate some of these lyrics. I wonder if he works in cool lines like some of his classics.... "I've been poisoned, I cannot do kung fu for three months!"

He wrote the lyrics for the songs in THE SINGING KILLER and GOLDEN SWALLOW as well.
