In other words, this doesn't have to be your favorite movie of all time, but rather one that you can play over and over without getting bored by it. I'll list a couple for me:

Dirty Tiger, Crazy Frog- Don't know why, a good movie but not the best. I just like Lau Kar Wing and Sammo's performances, Meg Lam as the Get-Away Arm girl, and a fun cast that includes Fung Hark-On, Dean Shek, and Lee Hoi-San. Just a fun film.

Ong Bak- Sounds obvious but whenever people come over and they want to watch a MA movie (and are not genre fans), I put this in. And while the plot is threadbare and the characterization is cheeseball, watching Tony Jaa's first movie is exciting because Tony Jaa is exciting, a real MA phenomenon. I still get chills watching him fight opponents because unlike some other genres, Muay Thai is extremely visceral and while Tony may not be a world kickboxing champion, he has legitimate real world and screen fighting skills. Plus, his stunt work is top-notch.

Hero- An extremely masterful blend of arthouse cinema and Chinese martial arts. Beautiful to watch, has emotional impact, and while there's wirework, it has amazing, imaginative match-ups, most notably with Jet and Donnie, a really cool fight that matches mood to music perfectly. The water symbology, the fluidness of both combatants- it just makes for some stunning imagery on lots of levels. I love that fight, one of my favorites of all time. I also love the match between Zhang Ziyi and Maggie Cheung with the autumnal colors, leaves, and the changing of the seasons signifying stages of the fight. Great movie, even if it is mainland Chinese government propaganda.

I agree on Hero. I've only seen Dirty Tiger, Crazy Frog and haven't really bothered again. I'm actually starting to forget it. I don't know, I just expected it to be a bit better. Might give it another chance though.

Here are some of the movies I tend to watch over and over again:

- Knockabout, all fun throughout the entire movie.
- Pretty much all the Venoms films, never really get tired of the choreography.
- New Dragon Gate Inn, superb movie. Love every minute of it.
- Fist of Legend, kinda tempting to fast forward between the action now after watching it a zillion times, but I don't.
- Project A, really original setting and a lot of fun.
- Fearless, mainly for the arena fights.

There are several more I see all the time. I'll add them later. :)

I'm surprised to see a few movies on these lists, most notably "Ong Bak" and "New Dragon Gate Inn" but, hey, to each his own.
I'd say those that have replay value for me are...

Drunken Master
The Magnificent Butcher
Young Master
The Victim
The Odd Couple

I understand, Ong Bak isn't the most compelling movie ;). However, the fights are exciting and it reminds me of when I first saw Jackie or Jet on the screen, you know, like a "holy s***" moment.

I'd put Fist of Legend down to but have lost my old copy, so I'm waiting for the DD release. Eastern Condors and Magnificent Butcher I've seen and I like, just don't own them. Still need to see Odd Couple, LWOC, Bride With the White Hair, and some of the others thekfc listed.

I would have to say the first Drunken Master. It's one of those kung fu movies I can get non-kung fu fans to watch. At first they'll usually just start laughing due to the dubbing and such (since the original track isnt complete on my DVD version), but then they start to love it and soon enough they're like "holy sh**!" and then they see why I love the movie so much lol. It's also one of my personal favorites.

I'd also probably put down Fist of Fury, its my favorite Bruce Lee flick.

And...36th Chamber of Shaolin I've always found enjoyable. It's not as re-watchable as Drunken Master though.

Tons of movies I could list here, and I agree with plenty mentioned, but the one movie I have rewatched the most is Legend of a Fighter.

Theres a few i watch a lot and fast to the fights but heres my list i can think of:
Ong Bak: for the reasons stated above, first film in many years that got me excited about the genre again.
Fist Of Fury: Best Lee film.
Eight Diagram Pole Fighters: Gotta love that grim opening scene!
Snake In The Eagles Shadow: I think this holds up even better than Drunken Master.
Fist Of Legend: Li's finest for combat closely followed by Fearless.
Shaolin Temple (SB) Love the story and theres so many Shaw stars in this.
Fist Of The White Lotus: Gotta love Pai Mei and his 8 steps palm!
Eastern Condors: Sammo at his most lean and mean.
Probably think of others later.

I think pretty much all of Golden Harvest's late 70s early 80s films have a natural high replay value, where most of them have more or less Sammo. There seems to be some secret ingredient which make them really entertaining all the way through, with solid kung fu and decent comedy filling. Those are the kind of movies you never get tired of.

Five Element Ninjas. :D

Hero is definitely rewatchable, it is the first of Zimou's wuxia. I find it more interesting as a love story with a little mix of politic. Tony Leung is also watchable, especially when he teamed up with Maggie Cheung.

Return of the 36th chamber of Shaolin is another enjoyable flix, the ending awes me so many times, since when did scaffolding become so aethestic :-]

Five Element Ninjas. :D

I concur!

Also Police story, I've lost count on how many times I've seen that, but it must be well over 200!

36th Chamber of Shaolin - I think I've seen this movie a couple hundred times, when I bought the DD I swear it was like watching it for the first time again:cool:

Of course there are many more:cool:

I love 36th Chamber of Shaolin- the mystical aspect of it always makes it kind of cool for me- but I have a thing where I'm afraid to watch a movie too much and get bored with it and so I have toned down my viewings of movies, such as 36th Chamber. I like to revisit movies after months or even years of not watching to catch them in a different frame of mind. Works too, especially for movies like Hero or Wheels on Meals , where I can appreciate different aspects of the film (like the stellar use of music in Hero or Jackie's skateboarding prowess in WOM)
