File Attachments

Images may be uploaded to the server and attached to a specific post via the "Attach File" option. (See example (http://www.kungfucinema.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6217)) This is the recommended option for members intending to archive valuable images on the forums or as a way to cut down on page loading times and scrolling when posting lots of images.

To attach a file to your post scroll down to "Additional Options" on the editor page and under the "Attach Files" heading click on the "Manage Attachments" button. A pop-up window will guide you through the process of uploading images.

File attachment restrictions allow for jpeg and jpg file sizes up to 5MB and unlimited dimensions. This allows for relatively high resolution image uploads. However, because server space and bandwidth is finite, all file attachments will be moderated. Any large attachments (500KB+) that are not considered to be of value to the community may be removed after a certain amount of time.

Photo Albums

Members can use their account to upload and share images with other members. To do this, go to your "User CP." In the main control panel find "Networking" and under that click on "Pictures & Albums." From there simply follow the instructions provided. Images can be sorted into different albums. Newly uploaded images may appear on the forum's front page.

VB Image Host, our old image hosting option is being phased out. Those who still have images loaded in this section may still access them by visiting this link (http://www.kungfucinema.com/forums/vbimghost.php).

Spoiler Tag

Use this to hide select text by default. Members may optionally reveal the text by mousing over it with their pointer.

Example:
put text here

Youtube Tag

Embed Youtube videos directly into a post. Either click on the Youtube button in the advanced editor's toolbar or type in the following tags manually and put the video's ID in between the tags. The video ID number can be found in the original URL address.

Example:
4yRCvVp_uVQ

Oh so you just put the numbers and letters part in between the 2 youtube brackets, not the whole adress. I always wondered why I could nver get that thing to work. Thanks for the info Mark. I hope I can finally get it to work the next time I try it.

Mark,
Do you think setting up captcha will help reduce the amount of spammers? Is that done during registration?

I recently started using a new version of captcha for the site. We'll see how it works.

Always avoid starting trouble and troublemakers on the forum, if someone is trying to bother you let it go. I know it seems
tempting to want to try and get them back from my experience though. I would say it is even better (from my experience) to
treat them ''extra special'' in return. Maybe they are special and maybe they need help too.. You may not mean it but those
types of situations it's always best to handle them with your kid gloves on.

Mark, you should consider disabling sign-ups of new accounts on a periodic basis to cut down on the spammers.

We do have an optional process to cut down on spam that involves screening and is periodically activated. Also, mods have recently been granted new tools to squash spam.

Gotcha. It seems the past 2 weeks have been an influx of spammers.

I recommend that you disable the option to post links for NEW registrants until 7 days have passed. Either that or until new registrants have
made at least 7 Posts. Problem would be solved, not only would we no longer have to deal with it or see it but neither would the moderators.

That's an excellent idea Daigoro.

Hey, is there a new page format going on here at the KFCF or has my computer gone wonky???? The navigation bar disappeared from the front page of the KFC, and I had to use the back door!

Seriously! How do you navigate to the features at Kung Fu Cinema Screen Fighting News & Review now?
How do you find the LHMC?
Where did everything go?
