Hello video-experts, can you please help me on this:

I really need a program that will allow me to cut segments from VCD's in a fast tempo. I've tried a program called Virtual Dub but it takes way too long to load the file from the VCD, I want something that loads the DAT-files immediately or almost immediately like the great program mpg2cut2 for example does with VOB-files on the DVD's.

VCDs are tricky to work with even when you extract the mpeg information from them and edit them as MPEG-1 files. However, one piece of software that lets you deal directly with VCD DAT files is Womble Multimedia's MPEG Video Wizard (http://www.google.com.au/url?q=http://www.womble.com/products/mvw.html&sa=X&oi=smap&resnum=1&ct=result&cd=4&usg=AFQjCNHDhP4ZP2QVogruuiNr7S46vk3DuA).

Thanks very much Von! Fast reply! I'll try the program out (30 day trial) but what a pity that it cost money (70 dollars for the small little action I need is not worth it), I hope there's a free program with the same ability out there. If you or someone else will know one in time or do know of one, I'd be very happy to know of it. Thanks once again!

It was an excellent program :) (just tried it), I will certainly enjoy the 30 days of free use.
