In this thread we can reveal the bloopers we've seen in the kf/action sequences from Hong Kong. The stuff that makes you wonder why they leaved it in. I have no examples right now but I think I will be able to point out at least one or two later on.

Fantasy Mission Force.

The whole movie is a giant blooper.

That flick is all about the madness. Guess I’ll be digging up my old VHS sometime soon (or perhaps even buy the new DVD) and have a look at how awful the fights and action really gets. All I remember that was bloopy is the ugly scene where a stuntman does a jump for the authentic role-actor down a cliff (or maybe it was a pile of sand, I dunno).

In Ninja in the Deadly Trap there is a scene about 20 mins into the movie where Lu Feng is fighting with some ninjas, and he throws a punch that is literally about a foot from his opponenets face. It's nowhere near the guy but he falls anyway. It's a pretty obvious mistake.

Chang Cheh would've never let him get away with that! ;)

The TIGER ON THE BEAT 2 victim was Conan Lee and the fall almost paralysed him - he was in hospital for months.

Also in NINJA IN THE DEADLY TRAP during the Chiang Sheng-Lu Feng fight, Chiang Sheng flips onto a table and springs off against a "wall" with his legs. The "wall" wobbles as if it's cardboard.

In THE DELINQUENT, during the scene where Wang Chung is brutally beaten and dragged through the water with a meathook through his shoulder, the police rush to him in slow motion. As they make there way towards the camera, you can see the shadow of the cameraman looking through the lens as the police approach.

During the last shot in FIVE ELEMENT NINJAS, Chu Ko hits Yu Tai Ping in the back of the head as they destroy the Earth symbol resulting in Yu falling rather awkwardly against the smashed rock.

Tiger on Beat 2.

The guy who jumped on the lightpole and fell. I heard he broke his hip.

It made the movie. (that's why it was left in)

Now that's a fall

A little wtf-moment from Crippled Avengers. Check out Kuo Chui at 6:17.

Would that be the shot of him flipping in the air with CKT below him? He is obviously using a wire but the illusion is that he is flipping off of Chen Kuan Tai's hands. Watch the bottom of the screen during that shot.

During the final fight between Kuo, Lu and Chiang Sheng a supposed "dead guy" can be seen raising and turning his head to watch the action.

I don't know if this is a blooper, but in Death Duel of Kung Fu John Liu and Eagle Han are standing about 20 or 30 feet away from eachother before they start fighting. I always found that pretty funny. And those stunt doubles were funny too. And another one where I don't know if it was a blooper is where Wong Tao kicks Eagle Han in the head full force. It's not often that I scream outloud with excitement while watching a movie.

I did not notice that. Still looked really awkward though.

ENTER THE DRAGON

Near the end when Bruce starts kicking the crap out the guards (after Saxon has beaten Bolo) watch one of the guards in the background let out a big grin - once you see it you can't not see it.

2 Champions of Shaolin during the whole movie Chiang Sheng's and Lu Feng's hair keeps changing length. In some scenes it's longer than others.

You all know your stuff people. I still haven't figured out any bloopers by myself but I stumbled by this at lamchingying.com:

Don't know why, but this always annoyed me, Broken Oath:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eP8LO_aP1V8

at 1 min in the clip here, while rucking you see her drop that hanky she keeps her scorpions in before being grabbed, doesn't necessarily show falling in the clip so obviously on youtube as it does on a tv screen; see one of the dudes bend down and pick it up. Next minute downstairs it's tucked back in her top again.

Mainland, Swordsman In Double Flag Town has the single most bizarre continuity error ever, right at the highpoint, probably the most important shot of the film, at the film's resolution of purpose, just out there. Weird, weird, weird. Won't describe it, watch and you'll probably see. Film's otherwise pretty flawless; all the more strange.

Flying Guillotine 2. Ku Feng's hair.

Weird Man: somehow Ricky Tien keeps disappearing and reappearing during all the fight scenes.

Sometimes he even suddenly appears out of costume momentarily, like strangely into a dress & make-up or something, then suddenly... back to normally camp again.

In REBEL INTRUDERS during the final fight an editing mistake reveals a number of blood bags hanging by strings being busted just as Kuo Chui takes out the spear men simultaneously.

In MASKED AVENGERS during the fight with the three chiefs against Chin Su Ho, Chin is pinned against a tree. Just seconds before that Chu Ko flips over him and a stabbing sound effect is heard even though the trident misses his shoulder by quite a bit.

In CHINATOWN KID during the fight against Lo's gang, two guys jump through a "glass" window. When the camera cuts and the two guys land inside the gym, the broken glass is nowhere to be found around them.

I think that was intentional peri. Not sure as I'd have to watch the movie again but as it's very similar to NINE DEMONS, I'm not sure I'm up for another viewing of this any time soon.

This classic in "Righting Wrongs." Skip to the last thirty seconds of the clip (the blooper is in the last ten) and watch the action. As Yuen Biao jumps from the balcony he lands on the grass below. Look behind him and watch the fake grass shake and curl up...

It's not a blooper per se but Ghost Face Killer's arms when they're broken in "Mystery of Chess Boxing" surely wasn't meant to look that bad.

The Blonde Fury - During the scaffold fight when Cyndy kicks a workman's back it's clearly a dummy that practically bends in half! However I noticed that this shot is missing from the Deltamac DVD so maybe it's only in the English dub?

Though not Hong Kong but directed by a Hong Kong director.

I do like & enjoy the movie Hard Target - this scene (though not actually a blooper - or maybe?) alway have me laughting:

Just noticed one at the start of The Rebel Intruders. In the mass of suffering civilians, one of them is obviously grinning while others around him are being pushed and beaten to stay in line.

A little off topic, I thought about something else while watching this movie. In the gambling house fight they ridicule some typical Hung Gar animal styles. Could this be a minor diss towards LKLs crew, the venoms' "rivals" at Shaws, who mainly had traditional Hung choreography in their movies? Might be nothing, but as most know, there were rumors about a small feud between the teams, atleast according to Robert Tai. After all, the later venoms movies weren't making a lot of money compared to LKLs films in the early 80s.

The Hard Target snake punch is supposed to be funny - it's called comedy.

You can call Jean Claude's acting that too. ;)

His acting's not that bad. Maybe in the early films but by Hard Target he was fine and has continued to improve in recent years.

True. Actually I've always liked Van Damme although some people seem to hate him.

The criticism usually comes from smart arses pretending they're above that sort of thing whilst offering up a discourse in how meaningful are the films of Ingmar Bergman. Frankly I'd rather watch Jean-Claude kick someone in the chops. :D

Someone may want to check this one but I watched "7 Commandments of Kung Fu" last night and as Mark Long's character is running away when he finally gets his father's old kung fu manual there seems to be an electricity pylon complete with wires in the background.
I might be wrong but it looked that way to me.
