Just wondering if there are any Puro fans on the board?? I've been watching some NJPW matches lately & matches with theOG Tiger Mask. I'm surprised at how much is on youtube. Torrents are pretty deep, too.

I'm somewhat of a fan. My favorites in Puroresu are the late Shinya Hashimoto and Jushin "Thunder" Liger.

I have no idea what Puroresu is, but are you talking about that masked Japanese wrestler guy who does insane acrobatics all around the ring? I hate pro wrestling, but that Japanese stuff is somethng I would watch if it was on TV.

I got some GREAT matches off of extreme wrestling torrents featuring Tiger Mask & picked up 3 volumes of The Best of Tiger Mask I at cdjapan. The acrobatics & athleticism are spectacular.

If you have seen MUSCLE HEAT or BLOOD HEAT (as they call it here), Hashimoto fights Ken Low in the first fight of the whole movie.

Sadly, Shinya Hashimoto died July 11, 2005 of I believe a cerebral hemorrage.

My all-time favorite match involving Jushin Liger is when he fought the Great Muta with Muta ripping Liger's mask off only to reveal an evil Liger with white face paint and spitting mist at him. Here's the link to that match:

Ditto. The only thing I've seen come close to that here were some of the lucha libre matches WCW had in the early 90's.

I like puroresu a lot. I started to watch the matches on youtube, besides the acrobatics, I like the agressive "strong style", very stiff martial arts based, less talking more fighting.

I love Puroresu. They have a very unique method of storytelling where it is all done in ring. Their promos are handled more like Pro Sports postgame interviews. Definitely check out Kenta Kobashi and Toshiaki Kawada. Both guys are stellar performers.
