I wonder if any of you have noticed the film speed of this movie. To me, it is little bit faster than most of Shaw Brothers' movies. I am disappointed to see
Norman Tsui died. His performance in this one is superb.

Share your thoughts please.

I blinked and the fight scenes were over.

I should have hated this as, like you say, it's seriously undercranked.

BUT I loved it!

Maybe thanks to the presence of the mighty Mr Tsui, who I love.

TopGun, check out Vengeful Beauty for another great Norman Tsui flick!

Cool ending... a lot like the ending of The Sword, which came later, I believe.

The Sword was '80. LA was '82.

I stand corrected. The coup was still borrowed from the other.

Just watched this last night for the first time and got to say that I loved it. Absolute nonsense and pretty mental but that's a way to describe many a great martial arts flick.

Yeah, it is pretty hyperactive, but that's the trademark of its director, Lu Chun Ku, who also gave us HOLY FLAME OF THE MARTIAL WORLD, SECRET SERVICE OF THE IMPERIAL COURT, AMBITIOUS KUNG FU GIRL, BASTARD SWORDSMAN, and RETURN OF THE BASTARD SWORDSMAN, all pretty good Shaw Bros. swordplay films in their own right. And its female star is none other than Liu Hsueh-hua, always a plus in my book. (She was also in HOLY FLAME and BASTARD SWORDSMAN.)

I liked this one quite a bit (and most of those other above mentioned movies) but the sound and synth killed my buzz.

Why is it called "undercranked"? I would have thought it would be OVERcranked....

I have finally tracked down an IVL (just waiting for it to arrive) of this after passing on it when they were around in (relative) plenty supply

First got this on VHS years ago and enjoyed it immensely -looking forward to the revisit on the IVL.

May have to check Vengeful Beauty and Holy Flame as well
