I've tried to find out what this was, but with no luck, and since so many of you here seem to watch the same sort of things I do, both nowadays and in the past, I'm hoping someone else will remember this.

In the mid seventies, on broadcast tv in the US, usually on a Sunday afternoon, there would often be this show, or series of short films, or whatever this was, of live-action fairy tales. It seemed to be on sporadically and in my memory accompanied whatever the film of the day was--as if they were showing this as a short feature before the main movie. It seemed eastern European to me, and featured different fairy tale/folk tale -type stories that I remember as being funny or outrageous in some way. A lot of the action took place out doors, and it seemed kind of low budget. I want to say some of the stories were familiar fairy tales, like Jack and the Beanstalk or the Golden Goose, but I'm not really sure, and if there were stories like that, there was most likely some unusual twist to them. The only thing I remember vividly is they'd show Baba Yaga's hut in the forest turning around on its chicken legs. I think they showed that more than once, as if Baba Yaga was a regular character, but it actually could have been the same episode being shown more than once. I had thought it was called Farout Fairy Tale, or Freaky Fairy Tales, or even Fractured Fairy Tales (but it's definitely NOT the Rocky & Bullwinkle stories), but that could have just been what we called them at my house.

Suggestions that didn't pan out were: "Jack Frost" (I looked at clips of this on youtube, and it doesn't look like what I remember at all, and I couldn't find a clip that showed the hut), "Fairy Tale Theater" (Shelley Duvall), "Story Theatre" (from the early seventies), and "The Storyteller" (Jim Henson).

I'd really appreciate any help on this, or even just hearing from someone out there who actually remembers this! Thank you!
