Phantasm 2, why no R1 DVD??

Why is there no R1 DVD release of "Phantasm 2"? We have proper release of parts 1,3 & 4..... what is the deal with part 2? I know there is a R2 release, but not easy or cheap to track down.

MGM produced 1, 3, and 4. But Universal Studios produced 2 and has no plans for a dvd release. Why that is, only studios know why they make the stupid decisions they do.

Region 2 releases are easier to be made since copyright issues differ in other countries. I'm sure someone else can explain it better than I can. But that is the gist of it.

If you can find it for a good price, get the UK-Box with the Sphere. Great addition to every DVD-Collection and not very expensive for 4 movies.
The German DVD includes the Workprint und the theatrical cut, english language and is very cheap to buy.

That Sphere Boxset is very cool, but Im not looking to drop $60 on it. Especially since I already have very good Anchor Bay DVD versions of all the other films. And I went ahead and ordered the newer R2 Anchor Bay UK DVD release of "Phantasm 2".
