Greetings.
I just picked up this book called ''Twilight'' I could not resist the cover. It's very rare that i buy up a book based on
a cover but since i was actually looking for a good read and this one sort of spoke to me i bought it. Shortly after buying this
book i learned that the book is going to be released as a Motion Picture on November 21st. This thread is to inform any of
those people who might have a similar interest to look into it because it could be one of those things you neither want to put
down or forget. I just started to read the book and it's really well written even surprisingly woven and interwoven with all sorts
of nuances and subtleties. I have no idea how it will be when i go to see it in the next 1/2 weeks i really doubt it will be able to
compete with the book few films do but there is always a chance it could be prodigious. Once i read that one of my Authors
who was Clive Barker say ''People who watch movies and are not necessarily interested in books are less intellectually
demanding''. I feel that although this could be an overstatement that is for the most part it has a lot of truth. I urge
you to not only see the movie but pick up the book as well. Official Website of the movie is http://www.twilightthemovie.com/
Official website of the author Stephanie Meyer http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/ (Book was actually first published in 2005.
I believe and there are four parts as of this date. 2nd, 3rd, 4th titles are New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn.

Please see the bottom of the Poster for trailer.

Just to point out, former Jackie Chan stunt team member Andy Cheng did 2nd unit directing work on this movie.

My first impression of the teaser trailer when I saw it in the theater was : "Wow, this looks terrible!"

And as far as the posters go ..... those are the most effeminite/metro-sexual looking vampires Ive ever seen. Then again, that look seems to be whats "in" with younger "men" these days.

In the book the Author is making them (the cullens) out to be prosaic and almost exemplifies them as separate from the rest
of the people as if they are ''divinely beautiful'' and a class of their own. In the high school (the part where i am reading now) it's
really intriguing to see her paint such complicated characters without a trace of effort and come off as flawless as she does
doing it. They sit beside themselves like the cool kids not saying much at all but having the appearance of actually having some
possible unspoken dialogue. It's interesting to read the authors work when describing the main female 'human' lead in the film
while observing them because as she describes them there are times when she would say something to herself and as her
thoughts (or wonders) became more intimate or even closer to the nature of her question and equally close to one of them when
suddenly one of them would look straight into her as if they knew or felt her touch. In the book she (the author) walks a fine line
and makes the reader guess if it is actually true though (whether or not they are silently reading her mind or just happend to look
her dead in the eye while her scrutinies met their marks).

Another interesting note on the book as ''Bella'' is described as beside herself watching them beside themselves. This was an
interesting route to take because her thoughts of them and in particular the male lead who's name is "Edward" are so intense
and equally ''wondrous'' yet when she ends up having to face them she tries to play off her deep curiosities. It's a real smooth
read. The last book by an female author i have read was a long time ago ''The Ape who Guards the Balance'' so i don't do it
much at all but i have to say the author is penetrating and yet so subtle smooth at the same time. Very graceful read to say the
least. Not sure about the movie yet haven't seen it. I can say (@ GwaiLoMoFo) perhaps if you do not like the way the movie is
working out for you could check out the book, you wouldn't be able to see what they looked like then.

That means it's going to be very popular in Asia. Especially Japan.

I appreciate comment's both negative and positive towards the film but let's try to keep it civil i wouldn't want another one of
my innocent threads to get locked over nonsense. Im hoping i can turn on a few people to something i found that looks great
it's really simple. They do look like a bunch of clowns on the first poster that's my honest opinion ''of that poster'', however i
seriously doubt that when it comes time to see the movie or finish the book that my view of either would be cynical or slightly
jaded when there because of how it appears to be. Let's keep in mind that nobody has actually seen the movie or read the
book i urge you to do it so we then could really be able to deem if praise or true criticism should be cited. November 21st.

Here is the Chinese version of the poster (actually the Taiwanese). Asians are way into American films, it should be Vice Versa though.

Still have not seen the movie, wanted to get at least halfway through the book before i saw the movie. Am at the 250p mark so i have
decided to see it today. I have to say something about this book. It's seem as if it's a very personal book as opposed to have been
written for an audience. No doubt this has something to do with it's overwhelming success. New york times best seller and also #1
(above all other movies) at the box office. There really does not seem to be in end in fact if anything it would seem as if it was only
the beginning. As each page turns (with all it's twists), and the pages turn into chapters, upon reflection i cannot help but notice how
seamless her ability is to paint (endlessly) such highly imaginative words and phrases and weave them into a work of fiction that is
believable. Ive never seen someone write so effortlessly. Powers of description are amazing, paced superbly, colorful, and involving.
She brings life to the characters unwaveringly with ease as well as the world they walk in (that's saying a lot for a book about the dead).

I don't read books much probably 7 a year if im lucky, but from my experience its rare that a movie will be as good as the book. The
worlds view of film has changed and thanks to such ''believable'' CGI you cannot help but think that ''the line'' that separated film as
being believable and likable as the books that inspired them is thinning and that the NEW dawns of realizations are as fathomable
as the dreams of like which inspired the authors in the first place. I doubt i will review this movie when im done but i will come back
and share a few thought's about the movie. I seriously doubt i would be able to sum it up as ''crap'' even if it was horrible.

My wife just picked up the book over the weekend(i believe the first part) and she liked it. She wanted to get the rest of the series but apparently the only copies they had at Walmart were the hardbacks.

Daigoro, do you know how much of the movie will be true to the novels?

Wherever i go it seems someone is talking about this book or the movie. At the 320p mark i should mention my view of the book
has changed. I still think it's a good book but i feel that because the author is constantly illustrating how much, how taken Isabella
is by the male Vampire (Edward) that the story seems to be sidetracked into a romance novel. This is not what i was expecting.
I still feel and know from reading many books that the Author (Stephanie Meyers) is a class A writer with definitive/inspiring skills
but because she seems to be attempting to define her own fantasy of what Prince Charming would be like it has taken the focus
away from much else happening in the book. In the mind of the female lead (Bella) she is constantly talking to herself about how
in awe she is of Edward. I feel personally that because she has written it so well that it is very hard to try and find something you
do not like about the book but i would suggest that females read the book unless you are male and want to read a book about a
man and his/ rather Isabella's relationship with ''Edward'' develop from a crawl into steps of wonder and amazement all the way
down to the ''t'' to full passion between a Vampire and a human. I had no idea this book was like this but at least it's still a good
read. Author seems a little sidetracked! But hey who could blame her so much for fleshing out this story. I still have not seen the
film i was supposed to but i had a busy weekend so i cannot comparatively say with any hint of actuality how much the movie is
playing close to the book. I would say the movie probably is aimed at both the Male and Female audience and the book females.

Ok.. Ok.. I know I am a "Newb" But I have to put my two cents (or more) in here!!
Twilight was given to me as a gift.. I LOVED it!! Edward is.. well.. YUMMY!! LOL
New Moon, Albert bought for me.. Read it in 4 days.. LOVED it.. Edwards.. Still yummy!
Eclipse~ Read in 3 days and I loved it!! LOL
Breaking Dawn~ I started at 7am reading and finished at 7 pm the same night.

I just saw the movie and wow!! All the characters except Bella's mom and a few of her "friends" are all exactly how I pictured from the book.. (And yes.. I still LOVE Edward)

I am contemplating reading the books again.. Just to see if there is any detail that I missed!! I can not wait for New Moon to come out!! I will definitely be seeing that!! :)

Daigoro ~ ALOT of female (and some male) readers were very taken by Edward.. Almost like they were hypnotized or something.. I belong to a group of woman who read these books at the same time, and out of the 30 woman, 27 are infatuated with Edward (me being one of them!!) hehehe

My girlfriend became obsessed with the novels, so I bought all of them for her birthday. I read the first one out of curiousity, but thought it was boring as hell. I actually enjoyed the film more, though. Maybe it was just Alice or the evil vampire chick... Bella's top-heavy friend was pretty hot, too. At least the film portrayed the final battle in the dance studio. The books were just too clean for me. If I'm going to read a vampire novel I expect a certain level of decadent raunchy sex and graphic violence!

I suppose I'm just not part of the target audience.
I don't have much to say about the flick, but what there was to say can be found here...

I watched the movie last week, and thought it was pretty good, very close to the book..
I thought the 2 main leads were very well chosen, they represented Edward and Bella very well.
Looking forward to New Moon now ^^

I too laughed out loud at the sparkle scene. I turned to my wife and said "Being a vampire is a curse. When i'm in the sun I'm even more attractive to females" MUST REALLY SUCK!!

Aside from that it was a well made movie, but I like my vampires......you know more vampiery. Yeah I made that word up. XD
