Well I dunno about worst ever (and it being semi-kung fu anyway) but I was pretty disappointed with "Stranger and the Gunfighter" after believing a Lo Lieh and Van Cleef team would be cool. Wasn't into that one at all!!!

1. ninja kids- why ninja movies get so much flack: exploitation from start to finish. stupid story, a sex scene that looks like it belongs in a porno, and sub-par choreography with lots of guys in black suits.
2. kung fu vs yoga. Only reason this isn't #1 is because of the entertaining fight against the yoga master at the end. Rest of the movie is a waste of time with the 2 ugliest leads ever in a kf movie, fung hak on in a dress, and the most offensive storyline i've ever seen in a kung fu film.

Any of those Filmark "Ninja" films are pretty damn bad, can't seem to be able to sit through any of them till the finish.
Bruce Takes Dragon Town is another turkey, the star looks to be close to fifty years old with rotting teeth and the fights are that terrible "swingy arm" style.

I second morgoth's vote for RAIDERS OF BUDDHIST KUNG FU (aka A FISTFUL OF YEN), and considering how I enjoyed FIST OF FEAR, TOUCH OF DEATH, FOREST DUEL, and various cut-and-paste ninja movies, that's saying a lot. ROBKF only offers terrible fight scenes, what could be the stupidest resolution in a martial arts movie ever, and the ability to waste over an hour of your life. Gordon Liu must've been really hard up for cash; that's the only explanation I have for his role in this fiasco.
I've heard that a movie called SHARK OPERATION is supposed to be terrible, but I haven't been able to find any solid information on it.

And 8 Escorts in no way can be considered 1 of the worst movies ever. Li-Li-Li is super hot, has tons of fights, and D. Tan vs. Chan Wei Man at the end is awesome.

There's just something about the way the fights were choreographed in The Master that wasn't pleasing. A movie of Jet's that gets alot of bad reviews in which I thought the fight scenes were quite good, much better than The Master, was Dragon Fight co-starring Dick Wei.

Well Chen Zhen, we definitely have to disagree on SHaoln Monk(Tai Seng). It is one of my personal favorites, too many good things to go over in that movie.

cool its been brought up tho, saves me some time later tonite, otherwise i`d have to twist my mind once again about which old skoolie to feed the player with.
but im thinking we re starting to getting way off topic here the longer this thread keeps on going.
new legend is good stuff, shaolin monk certainly doesnt belong here ("worst kf movie ever") either, 7th curse doesnt belong here at all, as its neither kf nor is it bad in any way (now theres one of MY personal alltime cult camp faves)... oh wait...... dragon lee vs the 5 brothers :eek okay, we might be getting our act back together- now thats a) old school kf and b) baaad :\ :b (besides, afair, theres hardly any dragon lee in it in the first place :x )
morgoth
03-20-2007, 09:57 PM
Yeah, I shouldn't have listed a good movie like seventh Curse. New Legend of Shaolin made me think of it I guess.
To get back on track, I name Angela Mao's 'The Association' as one of the worst ever. Usually when a movie has that much nudity, I enjoy it a little, but this movie blew big time.
Atomic Mystery Monster
03-20-2007, 10:02 PM

03-21-2007, 12:07 AM
so whats up with NEW LEGEND OF SHAOLIN, is it seriously bad? in what ways?
Ill give a couple of jets movies a try, i have good taste too but my bad taste usually forces me to watch movies with the word Ninja in it. I really liked Jet in Hero, Danny the Dog, and Fearless because he really showcases his acting talent imo. I just never really liked seeing him in run of the mill kung fu roles, to me, he was always cooler in modern movies. With the exception of Fearless which was an excellent movie.
Atomic Mystery Monster
03-21-2007, 12:36 AM
so whats up with NEW LEGEND OF SHAOLIN, is it seriously bad? in what ways?
No, it's a good (but weird) movie. It starts off looking like a LONE WOLF AND CUB ripoff, then it starts throwing crazy stuff like a magic villain who rides around in spikey metal car (This is a period movie, BTW), little kids fighting, and there's even a segment in a stereotypical "spooky wax museum." Here's a clip (http://youtube.com/watch?v=7caLIEvVMbs) to whet your appetite.
I've also heard that the LEGEND OF THE RED DRAGON version cut out some scenes involving chicken butts and some other stuff, but I've never seen the NEW LEGEND OF SHAOLIN version and I can't say if that's true or not.

have heard the Xenon version is not the real Killer Priest
Give that man a cigar! Actually I just watched this film thinking I'd got Killer Priest, and ya know what that's just what I got, but this is where the misinformation comes in. The plot described on the back cover of the DVD: Killer Priest is actually the plot for Shaolin Monk. Not privy to this supremely stupid mistake on Xenon's part I picked the flick up just to have it on DVD and put it on my shelf! A few years later, like a month and a half ago I put it in to watch with my girlfriend (explaing the story an how cool some of it is), and wallah! The Killer Priest, a Chen Sing flick I'd never seen before (nor care to again to be quite honest!).
Shaolin Monk on Tai Seng DVD is the flick described on the back of the Killer Priest DVD Xenon released and the flick has some very cool dialogue, good story, and some pretty good fighting (outlandish as it is) between Kao Fei and Chen Sing. The story seems loosely based on one of the first monks of shaolin.

if its the one (aka brave in the kf shadow) its not only quite good, its most definiticiously good and recommended to grab asap.
treasury, assassinators & escorts are decent entries as well.
not in any way to be associated with "worst kf movies".

Goodbye, Bruce Lee His Last Game of Death starring Bruce Li is pretty aweful. Whats surprising is Anchor Bay released this crappy film on DVD with a great remastered looking w/s print while some of Li's better movies like Dynamo and Chinese Stuntman have yet to see a decent release.

Isn't FIST TO FIST an aka for FISTS OF THE DOUBLE K? That's an excellent movie.
It doesn't get much worse than DEADLY SNAIL, though.

Method Man is also on the bottom of the barrel.End fight in warehouse was good but rest...urghhhhhh...problem with films like this is they do not have good actors or money for good sets/costumes,or decent plot. When there is not fight they try to fill remaining with comedy.
If you like watching things like rich old man gets attracted to girl and hero slaps the hell out of him, method man is your movie:eek:

I really liked Casanova Wong's fighting performance as the villain in Method Man but he has one of the most irritating dubbed voices ever in it.

Hahaha...I'll give you a very badly dubbed voice
Hwang Jang-Lee in Eagle vs. Silver Fox. He sounded like Ren Hoek if he was old and drunk!!! "You eeediot!!!"
Then, there was Ho Sung-Pak in the U.S. cut of Drunken Master II. Pretty bad British accent that sounded more Aussie IMO.

I actually liked that voice, because it was so funny. There's a great part where cassanova says something, and his voice cracks hard. I was dying.

Method Man has more than just that warehouse fight. Chia Kai has an awesome fight against Wong Wing Sang, and Chia Kai's fight against Cassanova ain't too bad either. It's a terrible movie, yes, but fun to watch for all the sick fights and the training scenes.

I liked the movie as well but his voice was so nasally and annoying. That guy does that voice again in Snuff-Bottle Connection as one of the Russians with Roy Horan.

Hope I don't piss anyone off, but the movie I absolutely hated the most was Revenge of the Ninja with Sho Kosugi. The majority of it was so ridiculous I couldn't even laugh at how bad it was. It's the only movie I've ever given away.
that was one of more enjoyable yankee flicks.part2 I hated though.

I hate ragheads and blacks(nothing personal),can you ask asian or white dude to do it?
I'm sorry you have that kind of hate in you my friend, you should judge a person by their actions and not by their race. There's good people and bad people of every race.

I checked wiki and seems they were released here under different titles. And I have not seen Enter The Ninja but from stills can tell it`s not movie I have in mind.
Domination I am not referring,it is great movie:).It was PROPABLY Pray For Death which was marketed as ROTN#2.Sho fights no martial artists in film, just thugs and the end happens in slaughterhouse.

Had to break out my catalogs for this one! Over the years, I've highlighted and annotated them with 'grades' for movies.8o My choices (1960-1985) are:
- INHERITOR OF KUNG FU 0]
- KUNG FU EMPEROR (or, whatever the original title)
- REVENGEFUL SWORDSWOMAN :x :x :x
- ADVENTURE FOR IMPERIAL TREASURE
- BLOODED TREASURY FIGHT
- BUDDHA ASSASSINATORS
- DUAL FLYING KICKS
- 8 ESCORTS
- IMPERIAL SWORD
- SHAOLIN HERO (cast: Leung Kar Yan, Meng Fei, Kao Fei)
-STORY IN TEMPLE RED LILY
-10 MAGNIFICENT KILLERS
The 3 highlighted on your list aren't deserving the distinction "worst" kf movies, IMO. Though the OP's choice of 'Bruce Lee Fights Back From The Grave' got a lowly 1 lamp rating at the always generous Stomp Tokyo review site, so I'm steering clear of that one.

I'd like to add Martial Arts Master Wong Fei Hung starring Chin Ka Lok and Lam Ching Ying.I thought i will enjoy that, but after watching i knew i wasted my time only.

See, I was your age when it came out. In the 80's, this film made perfect sense! XD
I watched it recently though, and my son walked in while it was on. He watched it for about two minutes with his jaw hanging open, then turned to me with a look that was half disbelief, and half disappointment, and said "Are you actually enjoying this?" I said "Yeah, kind of" and he walked away looking stunned. :nerd:
