Jackie Chan is currently in New Mexico shooting his new Hollywood film, The Spy Next Door. Chan plays a man who is asked to watch his neighbor's kids and accepts. When one of the children accidentally downloads a top secret government code, Chan must protect the kids from secret agents and terrorists.

The movie is being directed by Brian Levant (ARE WE THERE YET?) and co-stars Amber Valletta (TRANSPORTER 2), comedian George Lopez, and musician-actor Billy Ray Cyrus.

Recent on-set pics were taken and can be seen on Chan's official site (http://www.jackiechan.com). After taking some time off, JC Stunt Team member Paul Andreovski returns to do stunt work for the film. Andreovski is the second non-Asian member of the team (behind Brad Allan) and while Chan is stunt director, the choreography is being led by Chan and Wu Gang.

Some of the on-set pictures were taken by Jackie's new "Disciple", Jack Tu.

Could be interesting. I'll keep an open mind. It'll probably be a bit more 'comedic' as are most of his Western roles. Also taking into account the man's age..

I wish JC would really kill some more Kung Fu movies before he gets too old...he was nice in Forbidden Kingdom and Rush Hour 3 so his moves are still there....well,aslong as he still is on screen, i guess im happy...

and plus, I love George Lopez...!

When one of the children accidentally downloads a top secret government code

only hollywood would make such a horrible story line, almost laughable. sucks

wonder what genius came up with that idea and getting paid millions a year. the entertainment world is such a funny but sad place.

Yeah it's mostly going to be a family orientated film a la Pacifier, but I think with Jackie and Wu Gang in charge of the fight choreography this time around, it may actually turn out well. Plus, this is the first time I'm going to see "Nerdy Jackie" as his character sports nerd-like glasses.

For those curious parties, Lopez and Cyrus are playing secret agents.

"The Pacifier" was originally written FOR Jackie Chan and now he's making something exactly like it 5 (ish?) years later? And several years after making a movie where he protects a baby? Okay Jackie, but this better be real good...

Shooting completed on December 31 and Jackie is back in China to prep up for a new film. Not sure what it is yet, but it was announced on his website.

I believe the film he's to work on is called 'Junior Soldiers' though that could be just a translated title.

My daughter is going to go crazy if she sees the movie. She is a huge fan of the kids show Lazytown and the show's star/creator, Icelandic-born Magnus Scheving (who JC Stunt Team member Joe Eigo doubled on the show) is cast as the villain. Scheving was an aerobics champion who did a little martial arts training prior to his audition. This was the audition that won him the role of the villain:

When I read aerobics champion gets MA training, I thought I was reading something about a gymkata sequel.

Those huskies in the beginning were put there as a comedic element right? Anyways, he looked comfortable pulling off the basics.

Well, from what I've seen it has to be his most family friendly film. You have the preteen daughter who has a chip on her shoulders, the middle child who is a little bit mischiveous and then you have cute little girl. And I believe someone mentioned the Pacifier, I'd rather see Jackie in this than Vin Diesel in the Pacifier.

JACKIE CHAN IN CAREER SUICIDE SHOCKER!!!!

I think with American films he's been in a career suicide mode. After all he did say that his American films were done for money which explains his choices. Oh well, another Jackie disappointment. However, I did enjoy Forbidden Kingdom.

Yeah, he has said himself that the American films are for the money, so I'm sure he knows those films are not up to his quality. I think he was promoting "Rush hour 3" on Letterman and he was saying it wasn't really a good film and Letterman was laughing at him about it.

Always nice to see him onscreen.. but I'm eagerly waiting for my copy of "Shinjuku Incident" to arrive. Any day now..

Yeah, he didn't really promote it on any talk show, and he was on a few. He said it was "ok" or "everyone loves (the Rush Hour movies) and i don't know why!"

Haha. At least he doesn't lie and tell everyone it's a great film with a great director or something!
