fist of fury edit is a complete mess, avoid. Sworn Revenge makes the series look pretty good though.

Well, FOF was a pretty crazy edited mess, FOF Sworn Revenge was better edited. However, I went out and got an non-subtitled-30-VCD of the complete series from YesAsia. At the time, cost me $40.00. Even though it's a Mandarin version, thanks to FoF Sworn Revenge and FoF, I was able to understand the whole series.

cheers guys I already have the UK DVDs just wondered which to watch first, I'll go with FoF then Sworn Vengence. hopefully I'll enjoy them if not they cost very little, so no big loss...

There's really no such thing as a "prequel" in this. Both are edited down versions of both halves of the TV series. "Sworn Vengeance", although released second, is the edited down version of the first half of the TV series.
