HKL's 5.1 soundtracks

On the recent Jackie releases, ie. Snake and Crane, HKL have used the original dub but added unecessary sound effects. Has anyone tried extracting the mono from the 5.1 AC3? Are the sound fx entirely contained outside the mono or are they merged with the main channels too? I'm thinking of looking into restoring the soundtrack, but not if it's going to be a waste of time?

just extract the Center Channel and try that one out. if this is @#%$ up, you gotta work with other Mono Sources...

Original dub eh? Hopefully Dragon Dynasty will them in proper mono. Snake & Crane was my first old school film and I LOVE it!
