You'll know who she is when she introduces herself :)

If your wife is as much of a smart ass as you say she is, I suggest you erase your message about her being one before she reads it. If she is anything like my fiance, I wouldn't hear the end of it, lol. I can hear her now '' so, you think i'm a smart ass, huh. Well your mama's a smart ass''.

welcome to the board Amanda. So Bob, have you talked your wife into joining the board?

NO WAY!:o

We do a ton of stuff together- we have a very sharing relationship- but I don't need her on here complaining about how many movies I have and putting a damper on my fun. :) If she was into these films- that'd be one thing. But she isn't. She watches stuff that I promise she'll like, but if I wasn't around, I doubt she'd ever watch a kung fu film on her own for the rest of her life! Shame she isn't into Asian films as it would be cool to watch them with her, and she's hella' funny too! I'm sure her posts would have you all rolling on the floor. But we watch lots of other films together- especially horror- so it's all good.

Anyway, she can stay on her forum, and I'll stay here. We all need some boundries for our personal space.

I would attempt to get the girlfriend interested in Kung Fu movies, but I have to get her off dance movies first.
Welcome to the board.
So what was the first asian film he showed you then?

OK. Here's the trick. Suggest a Patrick Swayze Double Feature. First watch DIRTY DANCING (yeah, I know you have to suffer a bit first...) then pop on ROAD HOUSE. Sit back and allow her to soak up the ass-kicking. By the time Jeff Healey performs over the end credits she'll be begging for more... probably.

Ditto for me Bob. But my wife has NEVER, and will NEVER watch my movies with me. She hates reading subtitles also. Closest thing to MA films she has ever watched with me are the Matrix films. Which is 100% OK with me, Id rather not have her watch them with me. Like you said, we share pretty much everyhting else.

To be honest I could quite happily stay watching martial arts films on my own, that way no one complains when I keep rewinding bits of seriously dope choreography etc.
My girlfriend can keep her crappy hollywood movies lol.

TY again for the welcomes!

Oh.. and just FYI.. If I have something to complain about as far as my husband, this is the last place I would bring the complaint because of the simple fact, he is on this website. Now.. if I was here, and he wasn't then there might be a complaint or two ;) LOL J/K

My GF before she passed away used to watch MA flicks with me.
She would even ask me if there is a part 2 or 3 to a movie we have just watched or to get her a movie (s) by a particular actor/actress.
There were times I would come over & she would be watching a MA flick by herself or have a dvd that she had watched earlier in the machine.

RIP Marvelous.

Wow bro, that's really cool. That's only ever happened with my wife a handful of times, but it made me really happy. In the beginning, she was eager to see more JC, she liked Michelle Yeoh films, and was open to watching anything. But I burnt her out on Asian films with my constant viewing of them. She was always impressed by the stunts, but never got the old school kung fu fighting. I tried to compare it to dance, which she likes, so she could appreciate the physical prowess of the performers. Plus she trained with me for a bit, and that gave her an idea of how amazing the things they were doing are. But she said "Now I understand how talented they are, but I still can't follow what's going on. So I don't like watching kung fu."

THEKFC- I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. :(
