Just wondering if they forum layout has changed for anyone else?

I'm not sure if somehow my settings got changed or just the forum layout itself has been changed...i preferred the way it was before

What is it that you don't like about it niro? Teako has already mentioned that he doesn't care for the right column but that should only be appearing to members on the front page. If enough members do not like that or prefer a fixed width version I can make an alternate template for you to choose that more closely resembles the previous incarnation of the site.

The main reason for the change is to allow ads below the header to appear to unregistered visitors but not members. As such, the right column should not be visible to logged in members on any page except the front page. If this is not the case, please let me know. I have not been able to test the layout with every browser or older versions of Explorer and Firefox.

Hi Mark,

I'm not seeing the notification of a new post that used to be on the old screen. Is that still active?

Haz - Yes, that feature had been removed but I put it back in.

For those who prefer the old look, you can switch to a fixed width version with the "what's happening" section moved back to the bottom by clicking on the following link.

http://www.kungfucinema.com/forums/index.php?styleid=6

You can switch between these two themes anytime by using the dropdown menu at the very bottom left-hand corner of the screen.

Hi Mark!

Thanks for bringing back the new post notification! I like the new banner on top of the screen, but prefer the fixed with style.

thanks a lot mark =)

i suppose reason why i prefer older style is because others forums i use are similar sort of style

I'm on Default Style because it's a better size for my screen. Everything fits neatly. Except on the front page where the column that should be at the bottom is on the right. Can't say I like that. Otherwise seems fine.

When I have more time to fiddle with the forums I'll create a third option where the sidebar is moved back to the bottom but the forum table still fills the screen.

Different size monitors and screen resolutions can have a big impact on which layout looks better. I happen to have a large widescreen display at high resolution so I like to have more information pulled up to the top of the site in multiple columns. It's not as clean looking but it means less scrolling.
