Anyone else plan on getting this? So far i'm excited, but i'm not sure how I like playing with a partner. But, i'm picking it up because the demo is so much fun.

I do hope that one day they get back into the survival horror genre.

I havent checked out the demo yet. I heard too much negative opinions about the controls.

Also, I still havent really played Resident Evil 4 yet. I'm a bit into the game and last time I played I walked into a guy who chainsawed off my head. I 'like' the game, but don't love it, and TBH my Gamecube is almost never on. When it is on, I usually pop in F-Zero instead and time-trial my favourite track.

I'll get it eventually. Right now though I'm addicted to Killzone 2 and won't be putting it down any time soon.

i have the demo too, its a continuation of 4 really except for ai charachter in 1player mode. IT has got some real good reviews, and they do still consider it survival horror so ill most likely probably pick it up.

Yeah, the reviews have been excellent, so i'm not worried about my purchase. But, I want the old school scares back in this game. There were none in 4 and it probably wont be any in this new installment. But, I am excited.

A lot of people have been complaining about the controls, but in playing the demo, I hadn't had any problems.

My brother has Killzone 2 and said he loves it. I just can't get into first person shooters.

This has to be one of my favorite game series, just shy under Metal Gear Solid in my list. Heck every console I had was in fonction of playing either one of these game.:nerd:

Can't wait to play this new one but I'm with Bravery on the old school scares. The old Residents were all about the atmosphere. When I played RE 4, that was my only letdown. The game felt more like a shooter. Sure the game's still great but feels more obvious and in your face then the previous installments.

My favorite in the series had to be Code Veronica. Men, I rarely revisited a game as often as I did that one. Last time I played it took me a little over 4 hours without any saves (except for the disc changing on the Dreamcast console)!:nerd: I honestly don't think I could've done it much faster.

This new RE doesn't look like a step back to the original mood of the series but it should still be good.

The Amazing Psycho Per, I agree top to bottom with what you said. Code Veronica is my favorite in the series, and one of my favorite games ever. And, it is one of the reasons I still pull out my dreamcast. Well, that and Shenmue.

I've been playing this for a couple of days and I don't think it's as good as RE4. Feels more like an action game than a survival horror. I want back the scares.

Killzone 2 is actually the only FPS game I've played. And yes it is awesome.

RE5 is not a FPS, it's a third person horror/action title with a first person weapon aim.

I know. I was responding to bravery when he said he don't play FPS.

He was talking about Killzone 2.

Im getting RE5 as soon as it comes out Friday. Ill probably lock myself in a room and turn off all the lights and play for hours at a time. Im not sure whether I will play by myself the first time through or go straight to online co-op.

Much outrage all over the internet bout the DLC-scamming practices Capcom is resorting to with first SF4 and now Resident Evil 5.

All this DLC-scamming has pushed me over the edge and I've decided I'll mod my 360 (or buy a new 360 and have that one modded, and use my current 360 for the games that are worthy of buying and playing online).

I'm gonna stop supporting these developers that are milking DLC for all it's worth, and spend my money on the games/developers that do deliver the complete package for 50-60 bucks. The industry is really destroying itself by upsetting their own loyal fanbase like this, just so they can make a quick buck.

Although the DLC hasn't affected me yet cause I haven't bought many games this gen it might finally catch up to me when Tekken 6 comes out. I've always been a tekken fan over Street Fighter aqnd if they pull that same shit with tekken I don't know what I will do. I might just ignore this gen and go back and play PS2 and super nintendo only. I have a ton of games on both that i have been wanting to replay. I will not be scammed!

The DLC isn't a problem for me, there is rarely anything I'd get extra content for. Outside of Oblivion, there has been nothing. I picked up a total of three arcade games--Castlevania, Bionic Commando and Contra--- games rocked back in the day.

As far as RE5, i'm not disappointed in the game, I liked it, but it isn't one of my favorite RE titles. I place Code Veronica, RE2 and RE4 ahead of it. And, it is short, but it has replay value. The weapon upgrade system isn't as good as 4 and upgraded weapons, I replayed the first board with upgraded weapons and they seemed the same as they were when I first played.

It is a good game, just one I could've waited on and paid less than $60.

What the hell is DLC??? Downloadable content?

Anyway, As much a fan of the series I am, I'll wait until the price drops. Over here it's 70$ plus tx, wich I think is a bit steap, espacially if the game is not very long like Bravery mentionned.

Bravery, if you place RE 4 ahead of this one, shouldn't you put them all (or at least the first one too), I mean to me, it means it's the weakest game in the series right (except for the third one, wich is in a sucking class of his own) ?

I guess you are right, this game would be the weakest in the series (outside of 3), but it is still pretty fun shooting heads of or popping people in there knees, running behind them and breaking their necks. And, I liked the first game, but not as much as the rest. But, the fright that this series once stood for is missing. The instant scares, walking into a room and not knowing wether or not tyrant was going to bust through the wall, are what makes this series tops for me. None of the shock or thrill is there, and it (for me) is hurting the franchise.

And, RE3 does suck ass. It is the only RE title I didn't play through more than once.
