Just throwing together an informal list of movies that played at Hong Kong Sunday at the Alamo in Austin, TX. Sadly the movie series is no more, it peaked in popularity around the time when Crouching Tiger came out in the US. Attendance seemed to level off for a few years after that, a few Takashi Miike films were shown later on in the series. I'll be back to update this list if I think of more, or if you were lucky enough to have seen any HK sunday showings feel free to add the titles.

Pedicab Driver
Zu
Wing Chun
Encounters of the Spooky Kind
Mr Vampire
Fong Sai Yuk
Last Hero In China
Shanghai Express
Eastern Condors
King of Beggars
From Bejing With Love
A Chinese Odyssey
A Chinese Odyssey 2
Operation Scorpio
Chinese Ghost Story
Sex and Zen
A Better Tommorow
Enter the Fat Dragon
Drunken Wutang aka Taoism Drunkard
A Man Called Hero
Revenge of the Shogun Women
Dynasty 3-D

Alamo Village has sort of re-started this. They're having a Kung Fu Theatre once a month on a Friday (midnighter) . So Far they've shown Fong Sai Yuk (great to see it on a big screen), City Hunter, and this Friday they're showing Chinese Hercules.

Yeah I noticed that, I keep missing them, wish the showings were a little earlier.

Since it's on a Friday, I don't mind. The HK Sundays never worked for me.

10? Sounds like a bad idea...

I could never go to those cool midnight showings of old movies at theaters like the Inwood in Dallas. I would just fall asleep, not to mention the drive home.

I never minded waiting for the midnighters at the Village and I always bought a pizza or something, but not enough people did, I guess.

I can live with the $5 admission, but 10 pm Sunday...isn't doing anyone any favors. Downtown parking will be free (except for the pay to parks), but what's the parking like late Sunday night?

Terror Tuesdays and Weird Wednesdays are both a dollar. I wonder why Asian Invasion is $5? Other than they're weekly and it's monthly.

First two movie are Heroic Trio (July) and Shaolin Invincibles (August).

Where is this Village theater? Is it in Dallas? Austin is a bit too far for me to drive.

edit: nevermind, I found it. It's in Austin also :(
